The Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV Transmission Line Project plays an important role in enhancing the capacity of the Northern power transmission system, contributing to ensuring national energy security. This is an urgent project under the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 81 dated June 3, 2025, requiring the completion of energization of the entire line by August 19, 2025.
The 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Transmission Line Project, managed by Vietnam Electricity Group, is assigned to Power Project Management Board 1, with a total length of 229.5 km passing through 4 provinces: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc. There are a total of 468 pole foundation locations, with a total project investment of about 7,410 billion VND.
Reporting at the meeting, the Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Group said that up to now, the work of changing the purpose of forest use for the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project has been completed, the work of compensation and site clearance for the column foundation has handed over the site for 468/468 column foundation locations, reaching 100%.
Regarding the route corridor, Vietnam Electricity Group has completed the measurement, planting and handing over of markers to the locality, reaching 242/242 anchor intervals. Regarding construction work, contractors have basically completed the opening of public roads at 468/468 locations; completed digging foundations at 417/468 locations, reaching 89.02%; cast foundations at 370/468 locations, reaching 79%; erected poles at 91/468 locations, reaching 19.44%. However, no cable pulling has been carried out yet.
Regarding the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV Transmission Line project, the section passing through Vinh Phuc province includes 5 districts: Binh Xuyen, Tam Duong, Tam Dao, Lap Thach and Song Lo. The project has a large scale, large construction volume with a total length of 48.58 km, the total corridor area of the line is about 135.39 ha. In total, in the province, there are 48 households in 10 communes and towns that must be resettled.
As of June 19, 101/101 pole positions have been handed over to the investor to implement the project; 93/100 pole spaces have been handed over for wire pulling; land and property and construction on land for 48/48 households have been counted and declared, reaching 100%; compensation and support plans for property and construction on land for 48/48 households have been approved, reaching 100%.
At the conference, delegates focused on reporting on specific progress in compensation, site clearance, resettlement, and clearance of route corridors in localities; presented difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process and solutions for the coming time...
Concluding the conference, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thi Kim Nga requested Vietnam Electricity Group to closely coordinate with localities to completely resolve compensation and site clearance work, ensuring project implementation progress.
He requested departments and branches to direct, coordinate, and guide localities to pay attention to land allocation, compensation, site clearance, and resettlement, and to complete the paperwork and procedures before June 20.
The Department of Industry and Trade is the focal point for daily updating reports to the Provincial People's Committee leaders on the progress of implementation to provide timely direction; proposing rewards for organizations and individuals who are active in implementing this work.
He also requested that the districts review all work related to compensation and site clearance; complete procedures and documents for handover to households before June 25, 2025; in which, the Secretary and Chairman of the districts where the project passes through will be responsible to the Standing Committee if it is not completed on time.
