The winds seem to soothe all the worries in the traveler’s heart, leaving only silence and peace. Ha Long Bay is one of the world's top tourist destinations, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. As the name suggests, the magnificence of a dragon, the panoramic view of Ha Long Bay will be very surprising. Because of the stunning beauty of the World Natural Heritage site, recently, in March 2023, CNN's travel website rated Ha Long Bay as one of the 25 most beautiful destinations in the world, describing Ha Long Bay as one of the most famous natural landscapes in Southeast Asia and one of the most beautiful places in Vietnam. With nearly 2,000 large and small limestone islands, clear blue waters, pristine tropical forests and idyllic floating fishing villages, Ha Long Bay is a place where time seems to stand still. Coming to Ha Long Bay, visitors can go sailing or kayaking to immerse themselves in this peaceful, vast and magnificent sea in the East Sea.
It is not by chance that Ha Long Bay is often listed as an attractive and favorite destination for international tourists. Not only possessing a majestic landscape, Ha Long Bay also wears the typical colors of the four seasons of the Northern climate. Sometimes it is proud and brilliant under the summer sun; sometimes it is quiet and ancient in the fall; sometimes it is passionately rushing in the rainy and stormy season or it is hazy and indifferent when the mist falls. Unique cave system
One of the caves that tourists love is Sung Sot Cave, located on Bo Hon Island, in the central area of the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay. This is one of the largest and most beautiful caves in the bay, with many rocky islands with unique shapes that cannot be found anywhere else. The path to Sung Sot Cave winds under the canopy of forest leaves, with precarious stone steps. Entering the cave, visitors are amazed by the magnificent beauty, each step of discovery takes visitors from one surprise to another. The cave is divided into 2 main compartments with thousands of stalactites of various shapes, both familiar and strange with ancient banyan trees, the image of Saint Giong riding a horse, the image of bamboo clusters, etc. Sung Sot Cave is truly like a paradise on earth, worthy of the title of one of the 10 most beautiful caves in the world voted by the Association of Travel Offices and Brokers of the Czech Republic.
Along with Sung Sot Cave, Thien Cung Cave is a favorite destination for tourists located on Lom Bo Island, about 2km southwest of Ti-top Island. The entrance to the cave is small but opens up a magnificent space with a multi-compartment structure that makes visitors feel like they are lost in a maze with sophisticated stalactites. The cave is named Thien Cung because in the cave there is a layer of phosphorescent light emitting a magical light like the legendary heavenly palace. In the cave there is a cave entrance leading to the sky, when the sunlight shines in, the scenery inside appears extremely splendid and magical.
Offering a completely different experience from Sung Sot Cave and Thien Cung Cave is Luon Cave. The cave is an open cave, located in the South of Ha Long Bay, about 14km southeast of Tuan Chau Island. To get here, visitors can only travel by boat, through a 100m long, 3m wide, 2.5-4m high arch depending on the tidal flow. The arches were formed by water and wind erosion over millions of years. Once through the arch, visitors will admire the limestone cliffs submerged in the clear blue lake water, feeling the peace around the lake area.
The poetic islands
Not only famous for its unique caves, Ha Long Bay is also a "paradise" of pristine beaches. During the journey to visit the bay, visitors cannot miss the beach on Ti-top Island. Seen from above, the beach looks like a crescent moon embracing the island. The beach has fine white sand and clear blue water that hypnotizes visitors. Not as prominent as Ti-Top, Soi Sim Island has only been put into tourism exploitation for about 10 years. Soi Sim is located in the Southeast of Ha Long Bay, 12km from Tuan Chau International Passenger Port. Soi Sim attracts tourists by its wild, poetic beauty along with unique, endemic natural values, possessing more than 78 species of plants and 32 species of animals.
Amidst the clouds of Ha Long, when the cool breeze of the sea blows away the hot summer heat, visitors can leisurely stroll along the wooden bridge that embraces the eastern side of the island, climb more than 400 steps to reach the highest point of the island, then immerse themselves in the clear water and the fine white sand of the western beach...
