This morning, June 8, candidates in Hanoi took the math exam, the final exam of the 10th grade public school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, with a test time of 120 minutes.
"I won"!
When the exam time was over, many candidates at the Yen Vien Town Secondary School (Gia Lam) left the exam room with happy faces and relief because they had completed the last exam. Some candidates shouted loudly "I won", "9 points", "9 in hand", "so easy"...
At the Tran Phu High School exam site, candidates who left early said they had 20-30 minutes left to finish the test. They predicted they would get a score of 9-9.5. However, some said the "differentiation" questions were relatively difficult, accounting for about 10%.
Bursting into tears with emotion, Doan Bao Ly said that she was a good student and the test was within her ability. "I did about 80%. Question C on geometry and question 5 were a bit difficult. After finishing the test, I felt much lighter and confident that I had passed the test compared to last year," Ly said.

Yen Nhi, who is good at math, assessed the test as being within her ability, and that students who understand basic knowledge can do well with over 8 points. She also commented that question C on the geometry test was difficult.
Candidates taking the exam at Cau Giay High School said they did the basic parts, except for the last two geometry questions, and are expected to get 8-8.5 points.
Ms. Nga, a parent whose child took the exam at Quang Trung High School - Ha Dong, said she had just picked up her child with a big smile. Her child is good at math, which is also the subject he was most worried about, but he did relatively well on the exam, only missing questions B and C in geometry.
Teacher's comments on math test: Close to curriculum
According to Mr. Do Van Bao, Math teacher at Vinschool High School, the official 10th grade Math exam for the 2025-2026 school year has changed its structure according to the new program, but there are not many surprises for candidates because the exam closely follows the program and is similar to the previously announced sample exam.
There are some changes compared to previous years. Specifically, in terms of the structure of the questions, the exam has changed completely compared to previous years, by adding topics on Data Statistics and Probability, grouping related knowledge into large topics.
Although there are still 5 large questions, each question is a group of related knowledge topics, which is convenient for students' thinking flow during the test. The test has a clear structure of the sections in 5 questions, with knowledge topics: Data statistics and Probability; Expressions and related problems; Solving problems by setting up equations, systems of equations and applying Viete's Theorem; Geometry of space and circles; Advanced problems.
"The test is consistent with the spirit of the 2018 generaleducation program, with more than 50% of the test material originating from real-life problems. Students need to apply calculation skills or create equations, solve equations and then draw conclusions about real-life problems.
In particular, in the last question, the question starts from a very practical and necessary problem for transportation businesses, requiring students to think about modeling the problem, solving the problem and drawing conclusions," said Mr. Bao.
