On the morning of June 3, more than 39,000 candidates in Nghe An officially entered the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year with the first subject being literature.
At the exam site of Huynh Thuc Khang High School, Vinh city, after 120 minutes of taking the exam, until the final bell rang, no candidate left the exam room early.
This year's 10th grade literature exam in Nghe An consists of two parts: reading comprehension and writing. The reading comprehension part is an excerpt from the work "On the Dragonfly's Wings" and requires candidates to answer the requirements of the text.
The writing test consists of two questions, in which the literary argument question requires analysis of the character in the excerpt.
The social argumentation question section deals with the decline of traditional games that are deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture in modern life. Candidates are asked to discuss how traditional games are passed down in modern life.
When asked, many candidates commented that the exam was not difficult but the reading comprehension part was too long and took a lot of time.

Trinh Thi Tam - a student at Le Mao Secondary School, Vinh City - said that the exam was quite long, the reading and writing sections alone took up nearly 2/3 of the exam paper, so many students in the exam room spent a lot of time reading and understanding.
With the social argument question - according to this year's exam structure, it is worth 4 points, so this is the focus of Tam's essay.
According to Tam, he himself participated in folk games organized by the school such as tug of war, stick pushing, hopscotch, jump rope... Therefore, Tam used evidence from his school to put into the article to make it more vivid and close to reality.
"When there is space and organization, folk games are still very attractive to young people like us. They are entertaining after stressful school hours, practice skills, improve health and especially create a spirit of solidarity among students," Tam excitedly said.
Le Nguyen Dang Khoa - a student at Ha Huy Tap Secondary School, Vinh City - commented that the social argument in the essay opened up a space for students to express their true feelings and relate personal experiences and folk games to today's life when phones, computers, etc. make up a large part of young people's entertainment.
"In my essay, I mentioned the games I used to participate in. But when I came up with solutions to preserve those games to suit modern trends, I still encountered difficulties," Khoa shared.

Participating in this year’s 10th grade entrance exam, Nghe An province has 39,130 candidates registered to take the exam at 69 public schools in the whole province. Candidates will take the exam at 71 exam locations with 1,664 exam rooms.
To prepare for the exam, Nghe An mobilized 5,670 people to do personnel work at the exam sites, of which 3,941 people were invigilators and supervisors at the exam sites.
More than 200 volunteer teams with a total of more than 2,100 union members and youths across the province have carried out many practical activities to "support" candidates participating in the 10th grade entrance exam.
The Youth Union at all levels has also made efforts to mobilize resources to support the program; seek scholarships for candidates in difficult circumstances; and coordinate to organize support for learning tools for candidates.
