Sharing at a recent press conference, Mr. Caesar Indra, President of Traveloka, said that according to the platform, the number of visitors to Hanoi during the time of BlackPink's two shows not only came from provinces and cities in Vietnam, but also many visitors from all over Asia.
Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry also hopes that Westlife's concert in Ho Chi Minh City will contribute to increasing revenue and promoting the destination.
Traveloka President predicted that Westlife's two concerts on November 21 and 22 could also create a strong wave for tourism in Ho Chi Minh City in the context of many economic difficulties. According to Mr. Caesar Indra, usually the closer the event date is, the higher the number of customers booking services through the platform.
"We have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to strengthen our partnership and establish a long-term commitment to tourism promotion. Through this, we will introduce more information about Vietnam's destinations on our platform to open up travelers' schedules and awaken their desire to explore destinations," said a Traveloka representative.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism also shared that the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry hopes that Westlife's music night will contribute to increasing revenue and especially promoting the destination.
"BlackPink's fans are mainly young people, while Westlife's fans are the 7X, 8X and early 9X generations. Westlife's audience may be partly people living in Ho Chi Minh City, so revenue will increase but not as dramatically as the previous night of the Korean girl group in Hanoi. When the event is closer, we will coordinate with the media organizer and check room capacity to provide timely support," said a representative of the Department of Information.
