This morning, June 3, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to guide the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Mr. Nghiem Van Binh, Head of the Department of Examination Management andEducation Quality Assessment (Hanoi Department of Education and Training) said that one of the new points in the 10th grade exam supervision this year is that the supervisor will remind candidates to check the status of the exam and notify the supervisor no later than 5 minutes from the time the test starts.

Candidates should note that after this period of time, if there is no feedback about the exam, it is considered that there is no problem with the exam and they will be responsible for themselves in the future.

Five minutes before the end of the time, the invigilator will also remind candidates to check their registration number, other personal information on the test paper, and the test code on the multiple-choice answer sheet.

Mr. Binh also said that this year, the Department of Education and Training adjusted new points related to items that can and cannot be brought into the 10th grade exam room.

Specifically, candidates are not allowed to bring into the exam room the Geography Atlas, drawing tools, or graphing rulers. Candidates taking the Chemistry entrance exam are also not allowed to bring the Periodic Table and Solubility Table.

To serve the exam process, candidates are allowed to bring into the exam room the following: Pens; rulers; pencils; erasers; squares; graphing rulers; drawing tools; handheld calculators without text editing function, no memory card.

Candidates are not allowed to bring into the examination room the following items: Carbon paper; erasers; alcoholic beverages; documents, communication devices or information storage devices to cheat during the examination.

This year, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has unified the exam time for all specialized subjects to 150 minutes, instead of the different exam times for different subjects as in previous years.

For the Natural Science and Foreign Language exams for specialized 10th graders, this year candidates will take the test directly on the test paper. As for the Foreign Language exam for non-specialized public 10th graders, candidates will still take the test on the multiple choice answer sheet as every year.

Candidates should also note the names of the subjects for the entrance exam to specialized classes as follows: Natural Sciences (exam for specialized Physics, Chemistry, Biology classes); History and Geography (exam for specialized History and Geography classes).

The Department of Education and Training also issued regulations that invigilators are responsible for sealing and preserving extra/unused exam papers in the exam room, and absolutely must not reveal/leak exam papers.

Mr. Binh said that one of the risks that can affect the leaking/leakage of exam papers is the area where exam papers are stored; it is necessary to pay attention to the fences around the exam sites, especially areas adjacent to national highways or residential areas... "There needs to be a plan to ensure safety, to avoid the leaking of exam papers due to external influences," Mr. Binh said.
