At the 2025 Admissions and Career Counseling Festival, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management ( Ministry of Education and Training ) said that this year's high school graduation exam will closely follow the high school education program; mainly the content of the 12th grade program and the content that continues from grades 10, 11 to grade 12.
"There can be 2 ways to implement: Type 1 is quite independent knowledge in grades 11 and 10. Type 2 - which can be given more priority - is knowledge in grade 12 but related to grades 11 and 10 to promote the ability to apply. Therefore, students focus on grade 12 knowledge, but also need to pay attention to the parts related to grades 11 and 10 to prepare well" - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha emphasized.
This year is the first year of implementing the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program (GEP) with the orientation of developing qualities and abilities. Candidates need to understand the knowledge and skills in the GEP program with many textbooks, especially the connection to reality and practice.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, this year's graduation scores will include exam scores and high school students' academic scores at a ratio of 50/50. Therefore, academic scores during the student's learning process are very important.

Europe records highest measles cases in 25 years
Europe recorded more than 127,000 measles cases last year, the highest in 25 years, but experts say many community cases may have gone unrecorded.
The report was released by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) at a meeting in Geneva, Switzerland on March 15. In 2024, the European region recorded 127,350 measles cases, double the number in 2023 and the highest since 1997. Children under 5 years old accounted for more than 40% of cases in 53 countries. More than half of the cases required hospitalization and 38 people died, as of March 6, 2025.
Measles cases in the region overall declined from 216,000 in 1997 to 4,440 in 2016. However, cases rebounded in 2018 and 2019, with 89,000 and 106,000 cases, respectively. After Covid-19 disrupted immunization programs, cases are expected to rise significantly in 2023 and 2024. Vaccination rates in many countries have yet to return to pre-pandemic levels, increasing the risk of outbreaks.
Special genes discovered in 117-year-old woman
Research shows that the world's oldest woman, Maria Branyas Morera, possesses a special gene that makes her cells 17 years younger than her actual age.
Maria Branyas Morera, a Spanish-American, was once the world's oldest person. She died in August 2024 at the age of 117. In previous interviews, she attributed her longevity to luck and "good genes." Recent research by Spanish scientists has confirmed this.
To find that special gene, experts at the University of Barcelona, led by genetics professor Manel Esteller, studied Morera’s microbiome and DNA before her death. They discovered that she possessed a gene that allowed her cells to function efficiently, with cells that were 17 years younger than their actual age. Her microbiome, especially her gut bacteria, was similar to that of a newborn.
Dr. Esteller's team found that Ms. Morera remained lucid until the end of her life. The illnesses she suffered before her death were mainly joint pain and hearing loss.
