Sharing the same view with Dr. Pham Huy Quang, Mr. Enrico Padula - Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City also affirmed the role of cinema as a cultural bridge between countries, contributing to a better understanding of the aesthetics of the two countries, contributing to a richer cultural identity.

Director of the Asian Film Festival in Rome, Artistic Director of the Italian Film Festival in Vietnam Antonia Termenini believes that Vietnamese audiences may now know more about European cinema through France, England, Russia, etc., but have little access to Italian cinema. However, in the 50s, 60s, and 70s of the last century, Italian cinema with its stories of Italian society in the past, history, and the names of directors, producers, and stars were known worldwide.

But the European film crisis of the 70s continued, causing Italian cinema to face challenges. And now, Italian cinema is no longer present at film festivals as much as before and has less influence on world cinema. Vietnamese audiences will know more about Korean and Taiwanese cinema.

Mr. Antonia Termenini also said that the general trend of Italian cinema in particular and the world now is to increase comedies, with commercial elements, attracting viewers; but without boldness, without original material and viewers quickly forget.

Speaking about Vietnamese cinema, Mr. Antonia Termenini also assessed that Vietnamese cinema is currently vibrant and has many good films that have been shown at the Asian Film Festival in Rome. Recently, Vietnamese cinema has had works that won awards at major international film festivals such as "The Third Wife" (Toronto), "Rom" (Busan), "Vi" (Berlin),...
