The song “What is more beautiful” by musician Nguyen Hung - who plays Hai in Red Rain - was inspired by the film and released on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). The work impressed with its simple lyrics, profound melody and message of love for the homeland and gratitude to previous generations.

After just over two months of release on YouTube, Spotify and TikTok, What's More Beautiful quickly entered the music charts, demonstrating its strong influence.

The 45-second remix on TikTok was transformed by users into vibrant electronic music, becoming a favorite background music in many patriotic inspirational clips on September 2. Currently, the song's lyric video on YouTube has reached 38 million views, an impressive number for a newly released product.

Sharing at the press conference to launch the cover MV (re-singing the original song) What's More Beautiful, performed by Trieu Hong Ngoc and Tran Tuan Hoa, author Nguyen Hung expressed his joy at seeing the song being well received by the audience.

He said that his compositions were not for commercial purposes but came from natural emotions and empathy with the characters in Red Rain.

“I wrote What’s More Beautiful Completely out of natural emotion. I just wanted to complete a song that everyone could listen to and feel. At that time, I didn’t think the song would touch the emotions of many people. The lyrics are all familiar, simple words of Vietnamese people,” said Nguyen Hung.

Previously, he shared with Dan Tri reporter that the song Con gi dep hon was completed in 2 stages: When receiving the script, he wrote 50% of the music and paused. After finishing filming the movie, he completed the remaining 50%.

Initially, the song was about love, but then Nguyen Hung changed direction to write about love for the Fatherland, about mothers waiting for their children to return from war.

“When composing the song, the emotions from the work Red Rain gave me meaningful and touching lyrics. I wrote it in an easy-to-understand way so that everyone could feel the soldier's longing for his mother,” the male artist said.

Nguyen Hung also admitted that every time he performed the song on stage, he was so moved that he cried.

At the event, singer Tran Tuan Hoa shared that the song "What could be more beautiful" reminded him of his childhood memories and love for his homeland (Photo: Organizers).

At the MV cover launch event of What's More Beautiful , singer Tran Tuan Hoa said that the song reminded him of his childhood with the war stories his parents and grandparents used to tell him. The work also helped him understand from a young age the silent sacrifices and the value of peace , especially since his father was a veteran.

It was this feeling that made Tran Tuan Hoa decide to join in singing the cover of What's More Beautiful with singer Trieu Hong Ngoc with the desire to fully convey the message of love for the homeland and gratitude to previous generations.

If Nguyen Hung's original version has a rustic color, then through the arrangement of musician Vu Quang Trung, the cover MV "What's more beautiful" is given a new musical color.

According to musician Quang Trung, the MV is divided into 3 parts: The opening part uses the familiar flute sound and the folk melody Beo dat may troi , combining pop-classical style to maximize the voices of Trieu Hong Ngoc and Tran Tuan Hoa.

The second part expresses patriotism, sacrifice and struggle, punctuated by rhythm, strings and drums. The final part aims at peace, connecting generations, combining images of children with the musical style of a symphony orchestra.

When asked if they felt pressured when compared to the already famous original version, both singers affirmed that they were not stressed. Trieu Hong Ngoc emphasized that with a good song that touches emotions, the most important thing for an artist is to express it sincerely so that the audience can understand the message.

She also admitted that the audience might love Nguyen Hung's original version more, but both artists hope that people will see the sincerity in their performance, thereby loving the new version more and appreciating the song even more.

“Music really helps us connect with history through emotions, reminding each person of sacrifices and patriotism,” Trieu Hong Ngoc expressed.
