Inspired by the movie “Red Rain”, the song “What could be more beautiful” composed and performed by musician and singer Nguyen Hung quickly became a musical phenomenon, especially during the National Day 2-9. The song attracted a huge number of listeners after just over 2 months of release on digital platforms.

Unlike the simple, rustic version of Nguyen Hung, the cover MV “What is more beautiful than” opens with the gentle, peaceful melodies of the song “Beo dat may troi”, from which the audience is brought to many levels of emotions. Musician Vu Quang Trung – Music director, MV director, who took on the role of arranger for “What is more beautiful than” – said that the first idea when he started to arrange the music was to use the language of music to tell a historical story that is encapsulated in the 5 minutes of the work.

“I divided the story into 3 parts. Part 1 is about peace , taking the peaceful image of the Northern Delta countryside. That is why I used the folk song 'Beo Dat May Troi'. Part 2 shows the spirit of patriotism, sacrifice, struggle... I used rhythmic elements, strings, drums... Part 3 brings the spirit of peace, praise, connecting generations, I combined the image of children with the musical style of a symphony orchestra...", musician Vu Quang Trung shared.

Tran Tuan Hoa and Trieu Hong Ngoc have two different musical styles. While Tran Tuan Hoa – a graduate of the Vietnam National Academy of Music – sings simply and in an academic style, Trieu Hong Ngoc – famous since the 2000s – is a singer capable of singing a variety of genres, and can break out with pop rock…

“This is also the reason why I combined pop and classical styles in this MV. I want to create space and make the best use of Trieu Hong Ngoc and Tran Tuan Hoa’s abilities. I hope the combination of the two styles, along with the harmony, will create a different feeling and impression for the listener,” musician Vu Quang Trung shared.

Sharing the reason for choosing “What is more beautiful” to release the first MV, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – representative of producer Tomchat – said, “What is more beautiful” is not only a song but also a way to express love for the Fatherland.

“This MV was made as a tribute and continuation of the A80 spirit, the proud 80-year milestone of the nation. Although the event has ended, that spirit is still present and spread in every Vietnamese person. Music is the language of emotions, the thread connecting memories, people and beautiful values; it is the way we express our gratitude and pride for the country,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai.

“In fact, music helps us connect with history through emotions. When singing about war, I not only want to recount the pain or feats, but also want to evoke the belief that love for the country is the thread connecting the past with the present, helping us live more beautifully and meaningfully today,” Trieu Hong Ngoc expressed.

Singer Tran Tuan Hoa said he was very impressed with Nguyen Hung and “What could be more beautiful”. When accepting to participate in the MV cover, he chose to listen to the song with his true emotions to convey the story through his voice, breath and personal experience.

“Each artist has a different perspective and I hope this version will be a tribute from the whole crew to a painful but heroic period of the Fatherland,” said Tran Tuan Hoa.
