Inspired by the film "Red Rain," the song "What Could Be More Beautiful," composed and performed by musician and singer Nguyen Hung, quickly became a musical phenomenon, especially during the National Day celebrations on September 2nd. The song attracted a massive number of listeners in just over two months after its release on digital platforms.
Unlike Nguyen Hung's simple and unadorned version, the cover MV of "What Could Be More Beautiful?" begins with the gentle, peaceful melodies of the folk song "Floating Water Lilies and Drifting Clouds," leading viewers through a range of emotions. Musician Vu Quang Trung – the music director, MV director, and arranger of "What Could Be More Beautiful?" – said that his initial idea when he started arranging the music was to use the language of music to tell a historical story, encapsulated within the 5 minutes of the piece.
“I divided the story into three parts. Part 1 is about peace , using the peaceful imagery of the Northern Delta countryside. That's why I used the folk melody 'Floating Water Lilies and Drifting Clouds'. Part 2 expresses patriotism, sacrifice, and struggle… I used rhythmic elements, strings, drums… Part 3 carries the spirit of peace, praise, and generational connection; I combined images of children with the musical style of an orchestra…,” composer Vu Quang Trung shared.

Tran Tuan Hoa and Trieu Hong Ngoc possess two distinct musical styles. While Tran Tuan Hoa – a graduate of the Vietnam National Academy of Music – sings in a simple, academic style, Trieu Hong Ngoc – famous since the 2000s – is a versatile singer capable of performing in diverse genres, and can excel in pop rock…
"This is also the reason I combined pop and classical styles in this music video. I wanted to create opportunities and best utilize the abilities of Trieu Hong Ngoc and Tran Tuan Hoa. Hopefully, the combination of the two styles, along with the harmony, will create a different feeling and a different impression for the listener," shared musician Vu Quang Trung.
Sharing the reason for choosing "What Could Be More Beautiful?" to launch his first music video, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – representative of the production company Tomchat – said, "'What Could Be More Beautiful?' is not just a song, but also a way to express love for the homeland."
“This music video was created as a tribute and a continuation of the spirit of A80, the proud 80th anniversary of our nation. Although the event has concluded, that spirit remains present and spreads throughout every Vietnamese person. Music is the language of emotion, a thread connecting memories, people, and beautiful values; it is our way of expressing gratitude and pride for our country,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai expressed.

"Truly, music helps us connect with history through emotion. When singing about war, I don't just want to recount the pain or the victories, but also to evoke the belief that love for one's country is the thread connecting the past with the present, helping us live more beautifully and meaningfully today," Trieu Hong Ngoc expressed.
Singer Tran Tuan Hoa said he was very impressed with Nguyen Hung and "What Could Be More Beautiful?". When he agreed to participate in the cover MV, he chose to listen to the song with his own genuine emotions to convey the story through his voice, breath, and personal experiences.
"Each artist has a different perspective, and I hope this version will be a tribute from the entire team to a period that was both painful and heroic for our country," said Tran Tuan Hoa.
