Dien Bien won 05 medals at the 2024 National Youth Badminton Tournament

From June 25 to 30, at Phu Tho Sports Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City, the 2024 National Youth Badminton Tournament for Donex Age Groups took place. The tournament gathered 700 athletes from 36 provinces, cities and sectors across the country. At the tournament, athletes competed in age groups from 6 to 17, including: U9 competing in men's singles and women's singles; U11 competing in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles and women's doubles; U13, U15 and U17 competing in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

At the tournament, the badminton delegation of Dien Bien province participated with 18 athletes (including 10 socialized athletes who are participating in mass training classes at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center), competing in 12 events including: Group I (U9) (men's singles); Group II (U11) (men's singles, men's doubles); Group III (U13) (men's singles, women's singles, mixed doubles); Group IV (U15) (men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, mixed doubles); Group V (U17) (men's singles, men's doubles).

With careful preparation in training and high determination of the athletes, and the dedicated guidance of the coaches, the badminton athletes of the youth age groups of Dien Bien province won 01 gold medal in the U13 men's singles by athlete Nguyen Dinh Tam, silver medal in the U17 men's singles by athlete Lo Trieu Huy, bronze medal went to Nguyen Thuy Duong in the U15 women's singles and the U13 mixed doubles Nguyen Dinh Tam - Hoang Truc Quynh, Lo Trieu Huy - Pham Duong Bach in the U17 men's doubles.

With the above results, the team has exceeded the planned target set before leaving for the tournament.
