New developments in the case of Phu Tho Club being relegated by FIFA

(NLDO) - Phu Tho Club is currently competing in the 2025 National Second Division and is at the bottom of Group A after 3 losses and is the only team that has not won any points.

On May 3, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced: "Based on the Disciplinary Decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Board, the tournament's Organizing Committee announced the suspension of Phu Tho Club from the National Second Division Football Tournament from the 5th match on May 3, 2025 according to the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Board.

The results of the matches that have taken place between Phu Tho Club and other teams in the 2025 National Second Division will be canceled. The remaining matches of the tournament will still take place according to the issued schedule. The tournament organizing committee will report to the VFF leadership to handle the above incident according to regulations."

Thus, the match between Phu Tho Club and Hanoi Youth, scheduled to take place this afternoon, May 3, must be stopped.

The results of Phu Tho's matches with other teams are not recognized.

Since the beginning of the season, Phu Tho's all-loss results against Quang Ninh, PVF-CAND Youth and Bac Ninh have all been canceled, and the three aforementioned teams have also had 3 points deducted.

Previously, on the evening of May 2, the World Football Federation (FIFA) announced the disciplinary decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee to member federations.

Phu Tho Club was relegated to the Third Division next season due to match-fixing.

Phu Tho is currently playing in the 2025 National Second Division and is at the bottom of Group A after 3 losses and is the only team yet to win any points. Last season, this team was at the bottom of the First Division with only 6 points (1 win, 3 draws, 16 losses).
