The Vietnamese women's 4x400m relay team started in the following order: Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Quach Thi Lan and Hoang Thi Minh Hanh. In the first three races, the Vietnamese athletes competed fiercely with the Indian athletes.
Although the Sri Lankan track and field team took the lead, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh tried to accelerate in the last 100 meters. Unfortunately, the Indian athlete took the lead in the final leg to win the gold medal, the Vietnamese women's 4x400m relay team missed the chance to defend their gold medal and won the silver medal in this event.
Vietnamese athletics has won three gold medals in the women's 4x400m event at the Asian Championships in 2017, 2023 and 2024. Notably, the women's 4x400m team including Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Quach Thi Lan and Hoang Thi Minh Hanh won the first prize twice at the most recent Asian Championships but could not win the third consecutive gold medal.
The 2025 Asian Athletics Championships will take place from May 27 to 31 in Gumi, South Korea.
