Before Quan Ky Nam (director Leon Le), Do Thi Hai Yen's most recent role was in Father and Son and… (Phan Dang Di - 2015), after that she almost "withdrew" from the film industry. Therefore, her return this time received a lot of attention.

In Quan Ky Nam , Do Thi Hai Yen plays the role of Ky Nam, a widow living in an old apartment building, making a living by cooking monthly meals for the surrounding households.

The luxurious beauty, deep gaze, elegant and graceful demeanor and temperament of Ky Nam are completely different from the people around and daily work.

Do Thi Hai Yen has portrayed the character delicately and meticulously, from her gait, her way of standing to the slow, reserved tone of a woman who grew up in a disciplined life.

According to the revelation, in order to be able to "live" with Ky Nam in every smallest habit, the actress learned vocal training and adjusted her clear, high voice to become quiet and experienced, true to the character's personality.

To “get to the bottom of the character”, especially without revealing too much through dialogue, this role requires being conveyed completely through looks, breathing and fleeting changes on the face, especially the eyes.

"When working, I always think of myself as walking on a tightrope, not allowing myself to 'deviate' from that tightrope. Everything must be something that cannot be put into words, must come from expressions or body language, from the eyes and the question: 'What do I want to say through this look?'. Those things create a sense of urgency and anticipation for the next steps of the character," Do Thi Hai Yen shared.

According to the actress born in 1982, this role is not a noisy comeback or a comeback to attract attention, but more like a "return" - a return to the most genuine emotions that cinema brings.

“I just hope that I can always maintain the most honest emotions when working. I return to cinema not to prove anything, but for the roles that I truly believe in, love and want to live with. If the audience watches the film and believes in the character, in what the character has experienced, that is an extremely precious reward.”
