At the event, producer Hang Trinh surprised many viewers when she shared a true story about how her company was once a victim of a sophisticated scam, causing a loss of more than 2 billion VND. The incident occurred during a deal to purchase copyrights for a foreign film. Hackers hacked the company's email, captured all the exchange content, and then sent a fake invoice with only one number different from the bank account number. Due to subjectivity, the company transferred the money as instructed and the case is still under investigation. She said that not only her unit, but many companies in other countries that bought the film also fell into the same trap.

This real-life story is surprisingly similar to the content of the movie Money Trap - a work revolving around the character Dang Thuc (played by Lien Binh Phat), a financial employee who is caught in the trap of a phone scam application. The film explores the psychological and social aspects surrounding trust, money and the dire consequences when people are manipulated by technology.

According to the producer, choosing the topic of phone fraud was not only to create a thriller, but also to serve as a timely warning.
At the press conference, members of the film crew all shared that they had been "victims" or had almost been scammed over the phone in various sophisticated ways. Actress Kieu Oanh said that she had almost been scammed 4 times - from threatening debt collection calls, fake insurance calls to even "strange delivery people" tricks.

Money Trap is also a special milestone when it brings together many faces appearing on the big screen for the first time such as Kieu Oanh, Tam Trieu Dang, Le Hai; at the same time, it marks the return to cinema of Lien Binh Phat in a different, thorny role. The actor said that this is a completely new experience and he hopes the audience will see a "different" Lien Binh Phat.

The film was directed by Oscar Duong – also his first film. The director shared that what made him most confident was the close, humane story, reflecting an alarming social phenomenon. The crew also invested in designing a simulation application called DealZ, simulating in detail from the interface to the functions to increase the authenticity of the film.
Money Trap is expected to be released nationwide from November 21.
