On the afternoon of November 17, the Quan Ky Nam film crew organized a special screening in Ho Chi Minh City, introducing director Leon Le's latest film since Song Lang .
Besides actress Do Hai Yen who was absent due to personal work schedule, the film crew was present in full including actors: Lien Binh Phat, Tran The Manh, Ngo Hong Ngoc, Ly Kieu Hanh, Le Van Than, Ly Hong An, Phuong Binh....

During the post-screening chat, Lien Binh Phat received many questions about his reunion with director Leon Le after Song Lang until his first collaboration with senior Do Hai Yen. Among them, the only kiss in the film between the two was a detail that received special attention.
Sharing about this scene, Lien Binh Phat said that the pressure here is the pressure that Khang character has for Ky Nam, not for himself. However, this scene brings him many different emotions, both confused and indescribable.
Director Leon Le also said that this scene was the only time he raised his voice during the entire filming process because the two acted it out many times but still could not get the feeling of “having loved before”. He even asked his two actors if they had ever loved anyone. Because with the way they acted at that time, no audience could believe that the two were in love.

Director Leon Le’s request for this scene was that the actors not be allowed to rehearse to keep their emotions natural. But when filming, both of them were shy, their steps were out of sync, and their frame proportions were not correct…
Because he was not satisfied with this scene, he asked the entire crew to go outside so that the two actors could concentrate. This scene on paper only had a few lines, it was thought that it would only take 2 hours to film, but in the end it took half a day. Luckily, Lien Binh Phat and Do Hai Yen were able to act out the moment as the director wanted.
At the event, director Leon Le also shared many interesting behind-the-scenes stories from the process of writing the script to choosing actors for the film. Leon Le revealed that while living in an old apartment in Cho Lon (HCMC) to make the film Song Lang , he met many special people and they became important materials to nurture the characters in Quan Ky Nam .
They are all real people, with lives, ways of thinking, and collisions with life that if you don't observe them directly, you will never imagine.

For example, the main character Ky Nam was based on a middle-aged woman who sells rice by the month at the apartment she rents. Although her personality in real life is completely different from the character in the movie, this was the first inspiration for him to create the character Ky Nam.
In addition, many stories about his own life from childhood until he moved abroad also inspired the plot of the film.

At the talk show, many actors, whether it was their first time working with director Leon Le or reuniting, expressed their happiness and luck. Because, with Quan Ky Nam , there are no big or small or main or supporting actors, everyone is respected and has a role to portray the character's personality.
Quan Ky Nam will be shown from November 28 at theaters nationwide.
