On her personal Facebook, Ms. Vu Khanh Linh, granddaughter of Mrs. Mai Chau, wrote: "Goodbye grandma, actress - Meritorious Artist Mai Chau. Always beautiful, cheerful, optimistic and full of energy in the other world , as you always were. You lived a brilliant and complete life. Love and respect you."
The role of Mrs. Nghi Que makes the audience unforgettable
During her career, actress Mai Chau participated in many films of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema such as Chung mot dong song, Chi Tu Hau, Di buoc nuoc, Co gai cong truong, Cuoc chien dau van con tieu tien... but the role of Mrs. Nghi Que in the film Chi Dau is the one that audiences remember the most.
With her sharp and natural acting, Ms. Mai Chau successfully portrayed the character of Mrs. Nghi Que, who is stingy, sinister and cruel, an indispensable piece that contributed to the success of the film Chi Dau .
Mai Chau's performance was so good that after Mrs. Nghi Que, she continued to be assigned other negative roles such as Pho Doan (film Sao Thang Tam ), Ba Kien's wife (film Lang Vu Dai ngay ay ), Hoang Thai Hau (film Dem Hoi Long Tri) ...
According to her family, the artist has been out of acting for 20 years. Bi, Dung So is the last film she participated in. While she was alive, she had a happy family with Mr. Vu Ky Lan, with two sons and two daughters.

"Ms. Mai Chau is a talented actress"
Meritorious Artist Duc Luu once co-starred with actress Mai Chau in the film Construction Girl (1960), the third film of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema in the difficult days.
Hearing the news of artist Mai Chau's death, Ms. Duc Luu told Tuoi Tre Online, "Even though I know it's the rule, I'm still surprised and feel extremely sorry for her. That golden generation now has very few people left, you can count them on your fingers. The time will come when I will follow Tran Phuong and Mai Chau."
Actor Duc Luu said that in the movie Construction Girl, she and Ms. Mai Chau played mother and daughter, but in real life, the two were as close as sisters. In Ms. Duc Luu's memory, artist Mai Chau was a refined older sister with a lot of life experience.
In the early stages of revolutionary cinema, artists who acted in films were all people who loved their profession purely and loved each other very much.
Compared to her fellow artists, Mrs. Mai Chau has the best material conditions. Thanks to her, sometimes her siblings have fresh meals or dry food. She is like an older sister in the family.
Regarding her career, Ms. Duc Luu said, "Mai Chau is a talented actress. Although she did not receive professional training and switched from a voice-over role, she still scored points with the audience thanks to her profound and professional acting style."
Ms. Duc Luu added that until now, she only regrets one thing, that is, during her generation, Mai Chau was young, energetic, and wanted to contribute more to cinema, but the film studio was too poor, too difficult, and did not have much money to make films, so the actors could not fully develop their abilities. Otherwise, we would have many more good films.
