Sadness, happiness, failure and sublimation... I have experienced it all.

- What feelings did the role of Mrs. Hien - a hard-working mother who loves her husband and children in "Lat mat" 8 leave you with?

Lat mat 8 is the first project I acted in for Ly Hai. When I received the casting invitation from the film crew, I was quite surprised.

When arriving at the scene, Mr. Hai did not share the specific role, only gave a few suggestions and then asked me to act for him to see. Maybe I was suitable for the role so he chose me for the project.

Until now, I was only familiar with the role of a Southern woman. I was quite clueless about transforming into a Central Vietnamese woman, from the way she spoke to the way she walked.

The people here have dark, tanned skin, so I had to tan my skin four times to match. For me, more than a month of working, eating and sleeping with the film crew in Binh Thuan was a memorable time.

- How is your working attitude now?

I am currently acting in films, performing on stage, and occasionally teaching. I have never been picky about roles. The more difficult and psychological the character, no matter how low the pay or how far the filming takes, I will arrange to participate.

I try my best for each project. The rest, revenue and effect, depends on many factors.

I take myself away from those things because if you only focus on achievements and awards, it's hard to excel in your career.

- You have been in the profession for many years, are a Meritorious Artist but your life is very private. Is that silence a personality trait or a choice?

At 54, I have experienced everything: joy, sadness, success, failure, shock, or sublimation. When I realized the value of life, I lived honestly, happily, and harmoniously with everyone.

I consider myself gentle and don't know how to quarrel or argue with anyone. I once heard people say: "Tuyet Thu lives so peacefully, there's nothing to interview" .

After all, each person has their own path and choice. What belongs to you is eternal, but trying to please others is tiring.

Live a carefree life with your husband taking care of everything

- Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu does not have the pressure of making a living because her rich husband takes care of everything. Is that true?

My husband is a retired police officer who has turned to business. He manages everything in the house, including the finances. I’m not bragging, I just feel lucky to have a comfortable life.

I know many colleagues have to work hard and do many jobs to stay in the art. When I have less financial burden, I can act freely and not let the worries of making a living drag me down.

My only concern is how to balance work and family. Even though I have support, I can't just leave forever, because that would easily damage my family relationship.

- How do you maintain your marriage in middle age?

My husband has loved me since I was young and has been with me for decades. He is 10 years older than me and is friends with many artists, including Viet Anh, Le Vu Cau, and Van Thanh. They were the ones who “matchmade” us together.

Although we work in different fields, my husband is quite artistic. On the contrary, my brother's friends meet and know everything. I often joke that we both see through each other's good and bad traits.

Before we had children, my husband and I often went out to eat alone and occasionally traveled . After our children grew up, we still kept that habit.

Life is not without quarrels and anger. But everything is resolved peacefully by us soon, not lasting more than a day.

Many people say women should keep their husbands, I think the opposite. Once a man changes his mind, no amount of trying will help him.

The most important thing in marriage for me now is honesty. We just live honestly, kindly, without embellishment. Understanding is important, keeping our family peaceful.

- What makes you happy in your partner?

When I was young, he accompanied me to shows regardless of rain or shine. There were times when I filmed all night and he slept outside in the car waiting to pick me up.

When I first gave birth, I was irritable and hot-tempered, but he always patiently coaxed me. Knowing that his wife was still passionate about her job, he accepted to take a step back to stay home and take care of the children, so that I could go to filming with peace of mind.

My husband is a bit superficial but he loves his family very much. I'm just jealous of him because he focuses too much on work and friends, sometimes neglecting his family.

But looking back, I think he had his own choice so I respect it.

- How do you spend time with your children when they are growing up?

My husband and I have 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl. The eldest son is 20 years old this year, and the daughter is 19 years old.

My two children are well-behaved, understanding and independent from a young age. The son is gentle and likes to follow his father's business career; the daughter is active and showed artistic talent from a young age.

I follow my children closely, from their studies to their daily activities. I know what they are good at and what they are weak at so I can make timely adjustments. Instead of putting pressure on them, I let them freely develop their abilities. As a parent, there is nothing happier than seeing your children grow up day by day.
