At that time, the Chinese media and public considered Lu Bo Xian's story strange. Many people thought he was a typical example of wasting human resources.

A prestigious university graduate ended up working as a butcher and butcher in the market. Some people even used Luc Bo Hien as proof that "going to university is just to sell meat".

However, time has proven that the person who was once considered a failure despite graduating from a prestigious university, has made a miraculous turnaround after 20 years. Lu Bo Hien has not only become a successful businessman, but also one of the most generous alumni of Peking University. He has returned to contribute nearly 900 million yuan (more than 3,200 billion VND) to the school.

Poor boy passed the literature department of Peking University

Lu Buxian was born in 1966 into a poor family in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, China. His mother died early, and his father worked hard as a farmer to raise his children. From a young age, Lu Buxian was conscious of studying hard and always believed that only through studying could he change his fate.

Luc Bo Hien was a good student and always ranked first in his class. Because of his family's difficult circumstances and his own lack of academic ability, Luc Bo Hien's younger siblings dropped out of school to give him the opportunity to pursue his education. Luc Bo Hien was the only child in the family to ever take the university entrance exam.

In 1984, he was admitted to Xi'an Normal University, but he decided to retake the exam and was admitted to the Chinese language department of Peking University, the dream school of millions of Chinese students. Lu Boxian became the pride of his entire family.

However, when Luc Bo Hien graduated from school and returned to his hometown, his life... "went downhill". In 1989, Luc Bo Hien started working at a small company, and quickly got married in the hope of stabilizing his life soon.

However, the low-paying job and cramped housing gradually caused his marriage to fall apart. A year after starting work, the company he worked for went bankrupt, leaving Luc Bo Hien unemployed, and his newlywed wife decided to divorce him because she was disappointed in their life together.

Discouraged, Bo Hien fell into depression. It was not until he met his current wife that Bo Hien decided to try his hand at the job of slaughtering pigs and selling pork at the market. From then on, his life gradually became better.

The story of the "Northern Butcher" caused controversy at one time

In 1999, after 10 years of hardship and decline, Luc Bo Hien opened a pork butcher shop called "Kind Glasses Butcher Shop", inspired by the glasses he always had to wear. In addition, Luc Bo Hien also wanted to create the image of an intellectual butcher.

Before that, he had seriously learned the butchery trade, committed to selling clean meat, with the right weight, and serving customers attentively. His shop quickly became a reputable and popular butcher shop. At this time, his story began to be known.

In 2003, an article titled "Bei Dai Butcher Sells Meat in Chang'an" attracted the attention and comments of the Chinese public (Bei Dai is the short name of Peking University). Many people at that time considered him a typical example of ironic fate, good at studying but when entering real life, confused and failed.

At that time, many people considered Lu Buxian to be "the shame of Peking University". Lu Buxian felt confused by the sudden attention directed at him, but he was comforted because his shop was getting more and more crowded.

In 2004, local authorities invited Lu Boxian to work as a civil servant at the Chang'an County History and Records Office, hoping he would help complete some books about the locality. He handed over the butcher shop to his wife to do the work assigned by the local authorities.

During this time, Luc Bo Hien wrote the autobiography A Butcher's Perspective to share about the ups and downs in his life.

In 2011, Luc Bo Hien decided to return to the pork business, expanding his clean pork business, combining online sales and direct sales at stores. His business quickly achieved great success.

In 2018 alone, the revenue of the chain of stores he owns reached 1.8 billion yuan (more than 6,000 billion VND), and the chain of stores he opened gradually covered more than 30 major cities in China.

Not only stopping at business activities, Luc Bo Hien also opened a school to train professional pork slaughtering and selling skills, helping thousands of students start a career in this field.

As his career took off, Lu Buxian did not forget to give back to the learning environment that had helped him train. Over the years, Lu Buxian has donated a total of nearly 900 million yuan to Peking University to support scholarships for poor students and the school's research activities.

Looking back at his turning point, Luc Bo Hien once shared: "At first I wanted to be a writer, but later I realized that I was more suited to business. However, I believe that my years of studying at Peking University gave me a good way of thinking in business.

If I hadn't gone to Peking University, I could have opened a butcher shop and made a living. But thanks to my rigorous studies at China's top university, I have developed a good mindset, strategic vision, and developed my career in a professional direction."

A person who was once considered "the shame of Peking University" has now become an inspirational role model for many young people to strive in life.

From his own story, Luc Bo Hien tells young people that studying does not guarantee to make us rich, but studying will help us have an open mind, creating unexpected turning points in the future.

Businessman Luc Bo Hien said: "Life always has difficulties, but believe that life always has turning points. Studying is certainly never in vain, studying seriously will create momentum for turning points that will lead you to a better future."
