Hanoi People's Foreign Affairs Delegation Surveys Traditional Craft Villages in Egypt

Continuing the working trip to the Arab Republic of Egypt, from May 25-27, the Hanoi People's Foreign Affairs Delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Lan Huong, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, visited and surveyed historical and cultural relics and traditional craft villages in Egypt.

The visit aims to promote cultural cooperation, tourism and people-to-people exchange between Hanoi and localities.

“This is a valuable opportunity for Hanoi to learn from international experience in preserving cultural heritage and developing traditional craft villages associated with tourism, and at the same time is a concrete and effective step in strengthening people-to-people diplomacy, an effective and humane soft diplomacy channel,” said Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong.

The delegation visited a number of famous historical sites such as the Giza pyramids, the Egyptian National Museum and traditional craft villages in the suburbs of Cairo such as the handmade carpet village (Harrani); the traditional papyrus exhibition area; the Khan el-Khalili silver and handmade jewelry village in Cairo...

The delegation learned and discussed ways to preserve heritage, develop tourism associated with indigenous cultural values, and experiences that can be applied to Hanoi .

Not only famous for its majestic pyramids and the legendary Nile River, Egypt is also famous for its traditional handicraft villages imbued with Middle Eastern and Arabic culture. The combination of historical and cultural heritage with unique handicraft villages has created an Egypt that is both mysterious and vibrant, leaving an unforgettable impression on visitors from all over the world.
