Cao Bang province delegation worked with the Department of Agriculture, Hunting and Fisheries of Emilia Romagna region (Republic of Italy)

Continuing the working program in Italy, the delegation of Cao Bang province led by Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the Department of Agriculture, Hunting and Fisheries of Emilia Romagna region (Republic of Italy). Receiving the delegation were Mr. Renzo Armuzzi, Director of the Department of Market, Quality and Promotion, Department of Agriculture, Hunting and Fisheries of Emilia Romagna region; Ms. Mercedes Centanni, in charge of the International Cooperation Agency for Sustainable Development and Innovation of Emilia Romagna region.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh expressed his thanks to Mr. Renzo Armuzzi and Ms. Mercedes Centanni for welcoming the delegation of Cao Bang province with sincere and warm feelings.

Introducing the natural conditions of Cao Bang, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed the development and formation of areas producing specialty crops such as chestnuts, seedless persimmons, high-protein soybeans, tobacco, bitter tea, and honey macadamia... Identifying agriculture and forestry as one of the economic pillars, Cao Bang province continues to implement the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector, focusing on the production of the province's key crops including chestnuts, sticky rice (Ong sticky rice, Huong sticky rice, Pi Pat sticky rice, purple sticky rice), dong vermicelli, black jelly, soybeans, red peanuts, yellow pears, black pork, bamboo mats for export... From there, the province promotes trade promotion activities to create stable output for agricultural and forestry products, focusing on attracting high-tech agricultural projects, organic agriculture, and clean agriculture; building production linkage models inside and outside the province; attracting investment in border economic zones; continuing to invest in the construction and exploitation of potential tourist areas; protect the landscape of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark.

To continue exploiting the potential strengths of the locality, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the Emilia Romagna Region Agriculture, Hunting and Fisheries Agency will support Cao Bang province in introducing and promoting the image of Cao Bang to partners, calling for and connecting investors and businesses to visit, research, implement cooperation programs, provide aid, and implement investment projects in the province. At the same time, exchange experiences, transfer advanced technology, and act as a bridge to bring local products and goods in Cao Bang province to the EU market in general and the Italian Republic market in particular. Support Cao Bang province in accessing basic information on the EU market for agricultural products; provide and update information on new policies and regulations. Looking forward to feedback from the EU region related to the export of agricultural products; continue to support Cao Bang province to strengthen the implementation of trade promotion activities and product promotion on a large scale to facilitate Cao Bang localities and enterprises to export many products to the EU market and the Republic of Italy.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Renzo Amuzzi affirmed that the Emilia Romagna region has a good traditional friendship with Vietnam; the close economic relationship with the region's trade with Vietnam accounts for 40% of Italy's trade with Vietnam.

He welcomed the visit and work of the Cao Bang delegation in the Emilia-Romagna region, and introduced the potential strengths of the region in the agricultural sector, especially the strategies for building and promoting products, processing high-quality agricultural products; the management and coordination model focusing on innovation towards sustainable development and environmental protection. He highly appreciated the efforts of Cao Bang province in transforming agriculture, welcomed the strengthening of cooperation with Cao Bang province, affirming that the two sides have great potential to promote specific cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food.

The Emilia Romagna region in Northern Italy is known as the “Motor Valley” and “Food Valley” of the country. This is a large and dynamic economic region in Italy, home to many small and medium-sized enterprises pioneering in technology, with an advanced production network, from high-end mechanical engineering, automobile manufacturing, agriculture, fashion to construction, biomedical engineering, green technology and mechatronics. This large economic region is also known for many famous traditional agricultural specialties such as Parmigiano cheese, Parma cold cuts, wine, etc. Currently, this locality has over 40 products that meet European standards. After more than 10 years of economic cooperation with Vietnam, the Emilia Romagna region now contributes more than 50% of Italy's total export value to Vietnam.
