Quang Tri province delegation works with Vietnam Wafer Joint Stock Company

Implementing the provincial investment promotion program in 2025, on May 31, 2025, the Quang Tri Provincial Delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien had a working session with Vietnam Wafer Joint Stock Company. This is a pioneer in Vietnam in the field of silicon wafer production serving the semiconductor industry.

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien informed about the potential and strengths of developing semiconductor projects in Quang Tri province. At the same time, he discussed with the consulting unit some working contents in the coming time to turn Quang Tri province into a leading semiconductor industrial center in the region and internationally.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien informed about the potential and strengths of developing semiconductor projects in Quang Tri province. At the same time, he discussed with the consulting unit some working contents in the coming time to turn Quang Tri province into a leading semiconductor industrial center in the region and the world such as: Assessing the demand for input materials for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam and the world in the period of 2025-2030, Current supply capacity in Vietnam; Capacity to supply raw materials on-site and domestically; Assessing the quality of raw materials (white sand) in Quang Tri; Determining the scale of the High-Tech Center; Location and scale of the area planned to build the High-Tech Center; Expected construction items (infrastructure, factory, logistics) in investment phases and total investment; Expected management plan, investment solutions...

At the meeting, Mr. Chau Hoang Long - CEO of Vietnam Wafer Company informed the province about the potential of Vietnam's semiconductor industry, the importance of promoting the development of the deep refining industry of silica-based materials, and wished to cooperate with the province to build a foundation for Vietnam's semiconductor industry.

Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien expressed his hope that Vietnam Wafer Company will accompany the province in the process of developing the Semiconductor Industrial Center project in Quang Tri province to submit to the Ministry of Science and Technology , and assigned the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center to coordinate and connect with relevant departments, branches and sectors to develop a report proposing investment policies.
