Quang Nam and Sekong Provincial Youth Unions promote exchange and cooperation

Continuing the cooperation results in previous stages, in August 2023 in Sekong province, Quang Nam Provincial Youth Union and Sekong Provincial Youth Union signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the period 2023 - 2028.

After two years of implementation, the two units have been in regular contact and coordinated to organize many activities, typically: Organizing cultural and sports exchange programs between the youth of the two provinces; providing free medical examination and treatment and medicine to more than 250 people of Se Kong province; training, transferring scientific and technical advances, and pilot planting of 100 grapefruit seedlings in Ka Lum district (Se Kong province); presenting 150 gifts to people and officials of Se Kong Provincial Youth Union.

The two sides regularly send representatives to attend major events of Quang Nam and Sekong youth, contributing to strengthening ties and mutual understanding.

At the talks, the two units assessed that the activities in recent times demonstrated the special traditional friendship and close ties between the two provinces in general and the youth of Quang Nam - Sekong in particular; at the same time, they demonstrated the sense of responsibility of the youth in preserving and promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate and effectively implement the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding for the 2023 - 2028 period, focusing on a number of key tasks such as: Strengthening cultural and traditional exchange activities, strengthening the relationship between the youth of the two provinces, especially the youth in border areas; maintaining and improving the quality of international volunteer activities in diverse and in-depth forms; promoting sharing and introducing youth start-up models, developing green economy , digital transformation and disseminating border laws...

During this working trip, the Quang Nam Provincial Youth Union volunteer group carried out many social security activities in La Mam district (Sekong province) such as: Donating solar power equipment to households in difficult circumstances; building a model of a livelihood nursery for young people; giving gifts to 50 households and 30 students.

Quang Nam Provincial Youth Union presented Sekong Provincial Youth Union with a set of computers and printers for professional work. The total value of the gifts in the volunteer trip was over 100 million VND.
