(HNMO) - On the afternoon of June 10, continuing the working program in Vietnam, the high-ranking delegation of the Havana City Party Committee led by First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee (Cuba) Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar conducted field surveys and learned from experiences at the Hanoi Oncology Hospital and Vincom Mega Mall Times City Trade Center.

At a working session at the Hanoi Oncology Hospital, Dr. Bui Vinh Quang, Director of the hospital, highly appreciated Cuba's outstanding medical capacity and proposed four areas of cooperation.
The first is to visit the actual model in Cuba and send Cuban experts to support, build and deploy the screening and control program for some common cancers.
The second is to connect with Cuban hospitals and medical experts with high qualifications in the fields of surgery, anesthesia, resuscitation, and palliative care to work in Vietnam.
Third, consider providing some drugs with good treatment effects on tumors that have been recognized by international cancer associations at reasonable prices, including the ability to produce them in Vietnam.
Fourthly, it is to create conditions for medical staff from both sides to visit, study and work.
Doctor Bui Vinh Quang hopes that in the near future, with the support of the management agencies of the two capitals of Hanoi and Havana, as well as Vietnam and Cuba, the cooperation between Hanoi Oncology Hospital and partners from Cuba will soon become a reality, contributing to improving the capacity of medical staff , better serving the people and cancer patients in both countries.
Expressing his agreement with the proposals of the leaders of the Hanoi Oncology Hospital, First Secretary of the Havana Party Committee Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar emphasized that healthcare is an area where Vietnam and Cuba can soon cooperate and has long-term potential. Comrade Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar affirmed that Havana is ready to receive and train cadres, doctors, experts, and medical staff of the hospital if needed.
At Vincom Mega Mall Times City, Acting Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan chaired a working session with the high-ranking delegation of the Havana City Party Committee.
The Acting Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that the city currently has 28 shopping malls, 145 supermarkets, over 1,000 convenience stores, 453 markets, 51 foreign retail establishments operating in the area; over 900 FDI enterprises licensed to operate... along with many e-commerce platforms and representative offices of enterprises.
According to the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade, the above system is working at full capacity to meet the needs of more than 10 million people in Hanoi. In particular, the biggest effort is to ensure supply in the context that the city's agricultural production only meets a part of the demand.
Also at the meeting, representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, WinMart and a number of Hanoi enterprises shared their experiences with the high-ranking delegation of the Havana City Party Committee, focusing on the following aspects: Market coordination, supply chain management, connecting manufacturers and distributors...
Appreciating the practical experiences shared by Hanoi, First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar expressed his impression of WinMart, a Vietnamese enterprise that sells more than 90% of its products made in Vietnam.
Comrade Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar also highly appreciated the experience of maintaining a smooth information channel, ensuring the connection between production enterprises and trading enterprises that Hanoi is implementing very effectively. Acknowledging that Cuba's economy still has many barriers to development, especially the embargo, Comrade Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar said that Cuba is making efforts to speed up the process of overcoming difficulties.
Expressing his hope that Vietnamese businesses and investors will seek cooperation opportunities in Cuba, establish production infrastructure, and turn the Caribbean island into a gateway for exporting goods to the region, the First Secretary of the Havana Party Committee affirmed that Cuba will always welcome Vietnamese businesses to do business; at the same time, he hoped that the two sides would soon have in-depth discussions, clarify and realize the cooperation agreement that the two Party Committees and two cities have just signed.
