The "Red Flamboyant" train, a highlight of Hai Phong tourism

NDO - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong in coordination with the Vietnam Railways industry is preparing to put into operation a luxury tourist train named "Hoa Phuong Do" - a new symbol of railway tourism, connecting the two major cities of Hanoi and Hai Phong with a classy and stylish journey.

The “Hoa Phuong Do” train consists of 20 brand new carriages, featuring a modern and comfortable design. Of which, the two VIP carriages are a special highlight, designed in Indochine style, harmoniously combining the beauty of classical Asia and the luxury of the West.

The interior of the VIP car uses natural wood floors and high-quality wood-grained PVC Nano panels, creating a cozy and elegant feeling. Single sofas and long sofas are arranged in three separate areas, creating both private space and convenience for chatting, enjoying coffee and sightseeing.

The ceiling of the VIP compartment is designed with a stepped design, covered with delicate floral fabric, combined with a LED border lighting system and artistic table lamps, creating a sparkling, luxurious space like a miniature royal train compartment. Inside, there is also a small bar serving coffee and drinks, live musicians performing, bringing a unique experience to passengers. Large windows, fabric curtains that fold open on both sides help visitors easily admire the scenery of the Northern countryside and Hai Phong Port City through the fast-moving train window.

The remaining 18 cars of the Hoa Phuong Do train are arranged with 56 flexible rotating seats.

No less impressive, the remaining 18 cars of the train are arranged with 56 flexible swivel seats, plastic carpet floors, stone-patterned plastic walls and decorative LED ceilings. Each seat is equipped with a personal reading light, power outlet, free wifi, air conditioning, fully meeting the entertainment, work and rest needs of passengers throughout the more than 2-hour journey.

The train cars are painted red, the typical color of Royal Poinciana flowers.

The exterior of the train is also designed to stand out with three main colors: blue-white-red, inspired by the red phoenix flower color typical of Hai Phong city.

The harmonious combination of modern design and local identity makes “Hoa Phuong Do” not only a means of transportation but also a new cultural and tourist highlight on the Hanoi-Hai Phong railway route.

Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City, said that the luxury train is expected to be launched on May 10, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hai Phong City. We expect that this will be a unique railway tourism product, contributing to diversifying the choices for tourists, while bringing new experiences, helping them explore Hai Phong from a different and more interesting perspective.
