
Attending the event were Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc; Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy; Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Hong Minh; along with leaders of departments, branches and many coaches and athletes of the Delegation.
Before entering the main ceremony, the delegates and members of the Sports Delegation performed the flower offering ceremony at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument, expressing their gratitude and determination to follow Uncle Ho's example in the spirit of training and dedication to the country's sports.
At the departure ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc presented the departure flag to the Vietnamese Sports Delegation in the Southern region, encouraging the competitive spirit of the entire delegation at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games.
Reporting on the preparation for the 33rd SEA Games of the teams, Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Vietnam Sports Delegation (Southern region) consists of 30 teams training at the National Sports Training Center. Of which, the Ho Chi Minh City Delegation continues to contribute 59 coaches and 258 athletes, participating in 37/45 sports that the Vietnamese delegation registered.
Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan expressed his belief that with serious preparation, strong direction from the industry, support from localities, and most importantly with the bravery, will and dedication of the athletes, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation in the southern region will achieve high results, compete beautifully, contribute and confidently shine at the 33rd SEA Games.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, said that the 33rd SEA Games will have about 12,500 athletes competing in 50 sports with 574 events. Vietnam aims to win 90-100 gold medals, maintaining its position in the top 3 of the delegation. He expressed his hope that the Southern region will continue to be the largest source of medals for the country's sports.
The 33rd SEA Games will take place from December 9-20 in Bangkok and several cities in Thailand. The opening ceremony will be held on December 9, while some sports will start early on December 3. The Games will feature 50 sports with 574 events, promising to be the most exciting and dramatic sporting event in Southeast Asia in 2025.
