Vietnam Sports Delegation Gives Gifts to Host of ASIAD 19

The flag-raising ceremony of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation was held at the ASIAD 19th Athletes' Village Square, Hangzhou, China. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong, Consul General of Vietnam in Shanghai, China Nguyen The Tung, Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training Dang Ha Viet - Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 19th Asian Games and members of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation.

At the ceremony, the host country China had an impressive art performance, introducing its unique cultural features. In addition, the host country showed hospitality to international friends, participating in the competition at this year's Congress.

The 19th ASIAD Organizing Committee sent its warmest welcome to the sports delegations attending the Games and presented souvenirs to the delegations. Representatives of the countries also presented souvenirs to the Organizing Committee.

Head of the Vietnamese sports delegation Dang Ha Viet presented the organizing committee with a painting of the One Pillar Pagoda on behalf of the delegation. This is one of the symbols of Vietnamese culture.

At 10:35 local time (9:35 Vietnam time), the red flag with yellow star of Vietnam flew at the Athletes' Village square, marking the official presence of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the Games.

On behalf of more than 50 members of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the ceremony, athlete Vu Thanh An expressed: " When the national flag was raised and the members of the Vietnam Sports Delegation proudly sang the national anthem of our country, I felt even more love, more pride and more determination and motivation to compete with all my might for the flag and colors of the Fatherland ."

The Vietnamese sports delegation attending the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) has 504 members, including 337 athletes, 90 coaches, and 11 experts competing in 31/40 sports, 202/483 events of the Games. The delegation strives to win 2 to 5 gold medals, and aims to have many athletes qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
