One of the highlights in ethnic work is the effort to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities. From there, gradually build a healthy, cohesive cultural environment imbued with national identity. In the first 5 months of 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism implemented many key plans to preserve and enhance the value of cultural heritages, typically the Project "Protecting and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritages in the List of national intangible cultural heritages and representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity" in 2025. Promote the development and implementation of plans to teach traditional arts such as: the art of decorative patterns on costumes of the Red Dao people; the model of preserving folk songs, folk dances, and folk music of the Red Dao people; Silver carving craft of the Red Dao people in Vu Minh commune (Nguyen Binh)... These activities create favorable conditions for preserving and promoting traditional skills and knowledge among the young generation of ethnic minorities. Scientific research on ethnic minority culture has received special attention, notably the provincial-level scientific research project "Research, preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of the Nung Ven people in Cao Bang province", contributing to supplementing valuable documents for the preservation and promotion of unique cultural identities. Many practical activities have been implemented such as: filming and recording "Paper making craft of the Nung An people" in Phuc Sen commune (Quang Hoa) and organizing the contest "Preserving the Tay and Nung ethnic languages for secondary and high school students in the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark area"...
The movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” continues to be promoted effectively in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, contributing to creating a healthy cultural living environment and building a sustainable community. Since the beginning of the year, mobile information teams have coordinated with cultural and communication centers of districts to organize 33 art performances and 23 mobile propaganda sessions, attracting more than 40,000 viewers. Thereby, improving spiritual life, creating community cohesion and arousing pride in national culture among ethnic minorities in the province.
In the coming time, the province will continue to innovate ethnic work in the direction of harmonizing cultural identity preservation and promoting socio -economic development, especially in the field of community tourism. The focus is on improving management capacity, increasing investment in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities. Focus on expanding learning spaces, teaching professions, developing traditional vocational skills for the younger generation, contributing to creating sustainable livelihoods, improving income and quality of life for people. With the attention and support of authorities at all levels and the effective implementation of ethnic policies, ethnic minorities in the province have gradually taken control of their lives, confidently building their homeland to become increasingly rich, civilized, and imbued with national identity.
