On May 30, General Secretary To Lam received Comrade Thongsalith Mangnomek, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, who paid an official visit to Vietnam from May 29-30. Receiving Vice Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) Sheikh Nasser bin Suliman Al Harthi on May 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked Oman to support increasing the scale of the Vietnam-Oman Investment Fund to 1 billion USD. On the same day, receiving Chairman and CEO of Excelerate Energy Group (USA) Steven Kobos and his associates, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the Group to cooperate with partners to build a warehouse to store and distribute LNG in Vietnam this year or in 2026.
On May 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received a bipartisan delegation of US House of Representatives members visiting and working in Vietnam, led by Representative John Moolenaar, Michigan, member of the US House Appropriations Committee. In an interview with Vietnamese press in Kuala Lumpur, assessing Vietnam's role in ASEAN , Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he always maintains contact with Vietnamese leaders to discuss ASEAN issues. The issues the two countries' leaders regularly discuss and hold phone calls on are the US's new tariff policy and the Myanmar issue. Multilateral diplomacy
From May 30 to June 1, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense, led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to attend the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore . Within the framework of the Shangri-La Dialogue, at the second plenary session with the theme "Ensuring stability in a competitive world", General Phan Van Giang delivered an important speech.
On May 29, at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, the United States, activities took place to celebrate the 77th International Day of UN Peacekeepers. Also on this occasion, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN, held a meeting with Vietnamese peacekeepers and officials working there.
On May 21 and 27, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang paid a farewell visit to President of the 79th UN General Assembly Philemon Yang and UN Secretary-General António Guterres as they prepare to end their terms of office. From May 28-30, the 43rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and the Asia-Europe Security Conference took place in Perm (Russia). Other activities
On May 30, the Department of Law and International Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Diplomatic Academy and the Vietnam Society of International Law (VSIL) organized a workshop on strengthening and improving the effectiveness of the signing and implementation of international commitments . Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan attended and chaired the workshop.
After three days of exciting competition (May 30 - June 1), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sports Tournament to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) has successfully concluded. The tournament brought together 396 athletes competing in 6 sports: football, table tennis, golf, badminton, tennis and pickleball.
On May 29, the Diplomatic Academy successfully organized the scientific workshop "Competition for national influence in international media in the context of artificial intelligence development" with the participation of many experts, scientists, and researchers from units inside and outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The workshop focused on researching and clarifying the competition for influence between major countries in international media today. The workshop drew some lessons for Vietnam in using the media to implement foreign policy, contributing to promoting the national image in the new context.
