Rename more than 440km of national highways and coastal corridors to Ho Chi Minh Road

Accordingly, the renamed sections are the sections that currently coincide with the Ho Chi Minh trail, scattered on 7 national highways and 1 southern coastal corridor. The renaming is to unify the route of the entire Ho Chi Minh trail from Pac Bo (Cao Bang) to Dat Mui (Ca Mau), while also facilitating management, operation and maintenance. Specifically:

Northern region, including:

- National Highway 3: 3 sections, total length of more than 141km;

- National Highway 2C: a section of nearly 21km long;

- National Highway 2: a section of nearly 3km long.

Southern region, including:

- National Highway 14: 3 sections longer than 107km;

- National Highway 61: 1 section longer than 27km;

- National Highway 63: 1 section of route 49km long;

- National Highway N2: a section of nearly 88km long.

Southern coastal corridor: a section from Abutment A of Ta Nom bridge ( An Giang ) to the intersection with National Highway 61, nearly 5km long.

Ho Chi Minh Road currently has a total length of 3,183km, of which the main route is 2,499km long and the western branch is 684km long.

The first project of this route started in May 2000, Dien Chau - Cam Lo section (308km), is currently being implemented according to expressway standards, 4 lanes.

According to the plan, by the end of 2025, 3 component projects will be basically completed: Chu Market - Trung Son Intersection (28.5km), Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan (11km), Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa (74km); bringing the total length of the upgraded and completed route to more than 2,600km.
