China team sets very high goals at 2023 Women's World Cup

" We will set a higher goal than what we have achieved, which will create motivation for the Chinese women's team at the 2023 World Cup. However, the World Cup and the Asian Cup are completely different, there will be many difficulties ," Reuters news agency quoted the head coach of the Chinese women's team - Ms. Shui Qingxia.

At the 2019 Women's World Cup, the Chinese team advanced through the group stage but were eliminated in the round of 16. However, this team was also the runner-up of the tournament in 1999. The Chinese women's team competed successfully at the 2022 Asian Cup. They won the championship after a 3-2 victory over the South Korean women's team. This result is the reason why the Chinese people hope that the team can improve their performance in the World Cup arena.

In the preparation for the 2023 Women's World Cup, the Chinese team's performance has been somewhat unstable. They have only won 3/9 recent matches after winning the Asian championship. According to Reuters , the Chinese women's team has just had 2 friendly matches with the Russian women's team and they won both.
