The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said it has rented My Dinh Stadium ( Hanoi ) as the home ground for the Vietnamese team to play 3 matches in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.

The second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia will take place in November. To prepare for the tournament, VFF has signed a contract with the My Dinh National Sports Complex to rent My Dinh Stadium as the home ground for the Vietnamese team to play 3 matches here.
According to Tuoi Tre Online , the stadium rental price is 800 million VND/match. This is also the price that VFF rented for the Vietnamese team to compete in the AFF Cup 2022.
In the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup, 36 teams are divided into 9 groups to compete in a double round-robin (home and away) from November 2023 to June 2024.
The first and second-placed teams in each group will advance to the third round (18 teams in total), and also earn a direct spot in the 2027 Asian Cup finals.

The Vietnamese team is in Group F with Iraq, the Philippines and Indonesia. Coach Philippe Troussier's team will play their opening match against the host Philippines on November 16.
The three matches at My Dinh Stadium of the Vietnam team will take place with Iraq (November 21, first leg); Indonesia (March 21, 2024, first leg) and the Philippines (June 6, 2024, second leg).
According to plan, after the end of round 3 of V-League 2023-2024, coach Philippe Troussier and his team will gather again in early November to prepare for the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
The Vietnamese team just had 3 friendly matches in October, losing all 0-2 to China, Uzbekistan 0-2 and South Korea 0-6. After the experiment, the French coach will have to make adjustments so that the Vietnamese team can play well in the future.
