Vietnam team is stronger with Xuan Son: Malaysian expert warns

In the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, the Vietnam national team is in Group F with the Malaysian team. Malaysian football expert Mohd Fauzi Pilus recently warned his team after witnessing coach Kim Sang-sik and his team win the 2024 AFF Cup.

"The Vietnamese team is not going downhill, but they are in the process of recovering to regain their strength. That is what they showed at the recent AFF Cup. The Vietnamese team has a strong spirit and has built a quality squad ," expert Mohd Fauzi Pilus affirmed.

Mr. Mohd Fauzi Pilus also said that the Vietnamese team has become stronger with the appearance of Nguyen Xuan Son. “The presence of naturalized player Xuan Son also created a huge impact on the Vietnamese team. They are really serious about the AFF Cup 2024 and that is why they can win the title this time,” Mohd Fauzi Pilus analyzed.

"The Malaysian team needs to be vigilant because the Vietnamese team will be our opponent in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. We need to find ideas to plan the best tactics to promote our strengths. The important thing is that we need to build our own strength to strengthen the squad," Mr. Mohd Fauzi Pilus told the Malaysian team.

“ The Malaysian team cannot look back at the past forever. The new coaching staff of the Malaysian team certainly has its own plans to promote the strengths compared to the Vietnamese team. The Malaysian team needs to be in the best form,” added expert Mohd Fauzi Pilus.

According to the match schedule, the Malaysian team will meet the Vietnamese team on June 10 in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Recently, the president of Johor Darul Tazim Club, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, revealed that he is completing the naturalization procedures for 6-7 players of Malaysian origin who are playing football in Europe to serve the national team in the Asian Cup qualifiers.
