On the evening of March 19, Nha Trang City Police ( Khanh Hoa ) said that a 75-year-old woman voluntarily handed over a pistol, a magazine, and 22 bullets found in her house. The person who handed over the weapons was Ms. Nguyen Thi Nong (75 years old), residing in Vinh Hoa Ward, Nha Trang City.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nong said that while cleaning the house, she discovered a pistol, a magazine and 22 bullets. Immediately after that, she went to the Vinh Hoa Ward Police Station (Nha Trang City) to hand them over.
Working with the authorities, Ms. Nong said that her husband used to work in the Forestry sector. The agency provided the gun and ammunition to her husband for his duty. However, the gun was later lost.
In early 2024, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police also repeatedly carried out propaganda campaigns to mobilize people to hand over weapons, explosives, and support tools.
The authorities have "gone to every alley, knocked on every door" to propagate and mobilize people not to research, manufacture, produce, buy, sell, transport, store, or use illegal weapons, explosives, or support tools.
The police agency calls on and encourages individuals and households to voluntarily hand over and collect weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks, actively detect, participate in denouncing and providing information to the authorities about the illegal manufacture, production, purchase, sale, transportation, storage and use of weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks...
Households and businesses are encouraged to sign a commitment to "Comply with regulations on the management and use of weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks".
