Synchronizing solutions to implement sustainable poverty reduction in Lang Son

To effectively implement the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction, the People's Committee of Lang Son province has set out 06 specific tasks and solutions such as: Strengthening the responsibility of Party committees, authorities, cadres, civil servants and public employees in implementing poverty reduction work.

Lang Son province promotes propaganda work to implement sustainable programs, especially competitions to raise awareness of all levels, sectors and people in the fight against hunger and poverty reduction.

In 2024, the member agencies of the Steering Committee for National Target Programs will guide and urge the assigned districts and cities to develop plans to implement the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program in accordance with regulations. This includes setting specific targets for reducing the rate of poor households and targets for accessing basic social services for each commune, ward and town as a basis for directing and implementing. Promote the dissemination of poverty reduction targets widely to create positive changes in awareness in poverty reduction work, arousing the will to proactively rise up of the poor.

All levels, sectors and organizations in Lang Son join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households and students.

Mobilize businesses, socio- political organizations and people to contribute to poverty reduction; receive and effectively use policies and support resources from the State and the community. Organize and effectively disseminate information to mountainous areas, extremely disadvantaged areas, ethnic minority areas and mountainous and border areas. Pay attention to the quality of specialized pages and columns on the poor in common and ethnic minority languages ​​to improve the effectiveness of propaganda work.

In the work of sustainable poverty reduction in the area, focus resources on prioritizing investment in traffic works, bridges, housing, clean water, toilets for poor and near-poor households... in Binh Gia and Van Quan districts to reduce the shortage of basic social services of households, increase access to basic social needs. In addition, integrate the implementation of general poverty reduction support policies and specific poverty reduction policies with projects under the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction in particularly difficult communes and villages with the new rural construction program.

Implement well the emulation movement "Lang Son and the whole country join hands for the poor - leaving no one behind". Organize to honor and reward collectives and individuals with many achievements in poverty reduction work; pay attention to rewarding farmers, direct laborers, poor people, near-poor households with outstanding achievements in escaping poverty and supporting other families to escape poverty; collectives and individuals with many contributions and active support in poverty reduction work.

With synchronous and effective solutions, the effective implementation of poverty reduction policies has contributed to creating people's trust in the Party and the government, contributing to social stability, ensuring national defense and security. Inspection and supervision work has been carried out seriously, 100% of poverty reduction policies have reached the people, especially in remote areas. All levels and sectors in Lang Son have promoted efficiency; in cases where errors were detected in the review of poor households, corrective measures were taken and timely and appropriate solutions were directed.

Thanks to that, sustainable poverty reduction in the area has had positive changes, for example, in 2023, the poverty rate in Lang Son province decreased by 2.9% compared to 2022 (from 8.92% to 6.02%, equivalent to a decrease of 5,100 households). The poverty rate of the province decreased from 6.02% (in 2023) to 3.48% in 2024.
