- On the morning of April 4, Comrade Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the pilot project on building smart border gates (SC) chaired the SC meeting to review the report on the results of project implementation; review the draft Working Regulations of the SC and other related contents.

According to the report of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, after the project was approved by the Prime Minister, the Provincial People's Committee advised the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to issue a Decision to establish a Steering Committee to implement the project and a working group to assist; Plan to implement the project . At the same time, focus on directing the implementation of tasks related to the implementation of 3 projects under the project (project to invest in building inter-sectoral working houses for functional forces in the area of landmark 1088/2-1089; project to expand specialized roads for import and export of goods in the area of landmark 1088/2-1089 and project to expand specialized roads for import and export of goods in the area of landmark 1119-1120).

Up to now, the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board is implementing the project to expand the specialized road for import and export of goods in the area of milestones 1119-1120 to 6 lanes and is expected to complete the 6-lane project connecting to China in June 2025, while preparing work to start construction of projects under the project in June 2025.

The connection of databases, construction of 5G mobile infrastructure, import and export procedures and medical quarantine procedures... have also been researched and implemented by relevant agencies of the province.

Leaders of the Provincial Border Guard Command discussed some related contents at the conference.

At the conference, delegates reported on the progress of project implementation within the responsibilities and tasks of their sectors and units; analyzed the content of work facing difficulties and proposed solutions to implement the project with the highest efficiency; and gave opinions on the draft Working Regulations of the Steering Committee.

Speaking at the conference, the Provincial Party Secretary pointed out: With the close leadership and direction of the province and the efforts of specialized agencies, the implementation of the pilot project to build smart border gates has initially achieved some positive results. However, there are still some problems in the implementation process, so the implementation has not met the set requirements.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary requested: the sectors and levels of the province must determine the role, meaning and importance of the project, thereby being determined to accompany and share responsibility in implementing it.

Departments, branches, sectors, and functional agencies of the province and the two districts of Van Lang and Cao Loc are highly focused on completing site clearance work to serve projects under the plan to hand over to investors for early commencement; focusing all efforts on construction of projects to soon complete and put into operation.

The Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone closely coordinates with relevant agencies and units to research and develop operating procedures, inspection and quarantine procedures for import and export goods and import and export vehicles before operating the smart border gate model; proactively complete related legal procedures so that when the project is completed, it can be put into operation immediately.

The Department of Foreign Affairs effectively coordinates foreign affairs work with Chinese agencies of equal level to ensure consistency in the construction process as well as the operation of the smart border gate in the future.
