- Since the beginning of the year, the management of forestry seed sources in Lang Son has been focused on by relevant levels and sectors, ensuring quality to serve the needs of seedling production in the province. Currently, the province has 38 recognized seed sources that are still valid, including a variety of key forestry species and indigenous trees.

Of the 38 recognized seed sources, 21 provide cuttings and grafts for valuable tree species such as Acacia and Macadamia. In addition, 15 seed sources provide high-quality seeds for Pine, Star Anise (with grafted eyes) and So. In particular, the province also maintains 1 seed source providing cuttings of Thanh Mai trees and 1 seed source providing asexual propagation materials for Lat Hoa trees.

According to information from the Provincial Forest Protection Department, the quality of these seed sources is basically guaranteed, meeting technical standards for serving the production of seedlings. In April alone, the Department also received an additional application for recognition of forestry seed sources from the Forest Protection Research Center (Forestry Science Institute).

To further enhance the effectiveness of seed management, the Provincial Forest Protection Department has issued a document directing district forest protection units to strengthen this work. At the same time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has also sent a document to the People's Committees of districts and cities on the implementation of tasks related to unit prices of forestry plant seeds.

These efforts show that relevant levels and sectors in the province are proactive in managing and developing quality forestry seed sources, creating a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the province's forestry sector.
