In 2024, Agribank Meo Vac operates in a context of many local socio-economic challenges. As a mountainous border district, Meo Vac district has rugged terrain, difficult transportation, and a scattered population, which is a major obstacle to accessing and expanding credit. Along with that, the district's poverty rate is still high, the educational level is uneven, and small-scale, fragmented production practices make the appraisal and assessment of capital efficiency face many potential risks.
In addition, the increasingly competitive environment, the demand for digital transformation (DTS) in the banking industry is taking place strongly but the information technology infrastructure in the district is not yet synchronized. Many people are not familiar with non-cash transactions and are afraid to use digital banking services. Meanwhile, Agribank Meo Vac still has to ensure maintaining credit growth rate, controlling bad debt at a safe level and developing modern banking services, meeting the requirements of DTS in the banking industry. This is a difficult problem for the staff of the unit in the past year.

Faced with the above difficulties and challenges, Agribank Meo Vac has proactively developed and implemented many solutions suitable to local conditions. Accordingly, the branch's leaders have focused on directing decisively and operating flexibly to closely follow market developments and people's needs. The credit staff has been strengthened to the grassroots level, closely coordinating with the commune government and mass organizations to review and grasp loan needs, guide documents and disburse promptly. Administrative procedures have been simplified, the application of digital banking technology has been promoted, creating favorable conditions for people to access capital and modern banking services. Along with that, the branch focuses on controlling credit quality, closely monitoring due debts, overdue debts, and persistently recovering bad debts and debts that have been handled with risks.
Thanks to the drastic implementation of synchronous solutions, in 2024, Agribank Meo Vac achieved many impressive results. Total outstanding credit balance by the end of December 2024 reached VND 758.5 billion, an increase of VND 114.7 billion compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to a growth rate of 17.8%. This figure not only reached 102.7% of the plan assigned by the provincial Agribank but also showed a strong recovery in lending activities in the area, which was assessed as difficult to grow.
Another impressive indicator is that the total capital mobilized in 2024 by Agribank Meo Vac reached 429 billion VND, reaching 100.94% of the annual plan. Notably, the rate of non-term deposits increased sharply, which clearly reflects customers' confidence in the bank, especially in a period of economic fluctuations. In addition to the growth in scale, Agribank Meo Vac also controlled the bad debt ratio well, reducing from 0.29% to 0.16% by the end of 2024 - this is a safe and encouraging level in the context of a high-risk mountainous area. In addition, the branch's loan interest income last year reached 6,130 million VND, reaching 122.6% of the plan, which shows high capital efficiency and positive debt recovery ability.
In parallel with credit activities, Agribank Meo Vac also promotes digital transformation and develops modern banking services. By the end of 2024, the branch has more than 8,700 customers using Mobile Banking, 10,182 customers using Agribank Plus and more than 1,100 customers opening new accounts. Not only completing its business tasks, the branch also actively participates in social security work, accompanying local authorities to support poor households, disadvantaged students and other community activities, thereby contributing to spreading the good image of bank staff.
Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, Agribank Meo Vac will continue to improve service quality, promote digital transformation, and expand controlled credit. At the same time, business activities will be linked to the socio-economic development goals of the locality, especially national target programs on poverty reduction and new rural construction; thereby actively contributing to the overall development of the district.
