(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of August 25, at the headquarters of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, a conference was held to implement the Politburo's Decision on personnel work.

Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, presented the Politburo's Decision on the transfer, assignment and appointment of Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Party Central Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, to hold the position of Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.

Attending this important event were comrades: Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Standing member of the 14th Party Congress Document Subcommittee, monitoring and directing the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee Office.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Tran Cam Tu stated that the new Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi is a leader with basic training, has worked in many positions at the Central and local levels, has the capacity and experience in Party building and state management, has a scientific , decisive, effective, close-to-the-base mindset and working methods, has successfully completed assigned tasks, and achieved many important results in the assigned fields.

He emphasized that the Central Policy and Strategy Committee is an important advisory and support body of the Party at the Central level.

Timely completion of the Head of the Committee is essential to ensure the regular and direct leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat over important strategic areas.

Comrade Tran Cam Tu suggested that Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi quickly approach the work, promote his rich practical work experience, and together with the leadership of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, perform well the advisory function in orienting the construction and completion of economic institutions, planning major and important policies, guidelines and measures for socio-economic development.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed his gratitude to the General Secretary; thanked the Politburo and the Secretariat for trusting and assigning him to the new position; and thanked the attention and support of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and people during his tenure as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi clearly understands that this is a great honor and at the same time a great responsibility and promises to make the greatest efforts and determination in performing his duties, to be receptive, to listen, and to promote the spirit of solidarity to work with the Central Policy and Strategy Committee to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

He also expressed his hope to receive the attention, direction, support and assistance of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the leadership of the Committee as well as the effective coordination of central and local departments and ministries to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
