Comrade Pham Thanh Ngai holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province.

On the afternoon of November 17, Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Secretariat on the transfer and appointment of comrade Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

The conference was attended by comrade Nguyen Thanh Tam, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee; comrade Ngo Chi Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province; comrade Nguyen Ho Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ca Mau province.

At the ceremony, the Central Organizing Committee announced the decisions of the Secretariat on comrade Pham Thanh Ngai ceasing to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and ceasing to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; and transferring and appointing comrade Pham Thanh Ngai to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

The Standing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee presented flowers to congratulate comrade Pham Thanh Ngai.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Thanh Tam emphasized: Comrade Pham Thanh Ngai is a cadre with basic training, a Bachelor of Law, Master of Economic Law, and Senior Political Theory; he grew up from the grassroots and has worked in many positions in different units: Officer of the District Party Committee Office; Chief of Office, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district; Deputy Chief of Office, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Nam Can District Party Committee, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Ca Mau City Party Committee; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee.

After merging Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces into Ca Mau province, he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province.

Comrade Pham Thanh Ngai is a capable and experienced cadre in Party building and State management; responsible, close to the grassroots, determined in work, capable of gathering and uniting the leadership. In all his positions, he has always fulfilled his assigned tasks well, making important contributions to the overall achievements and results of the locality, agency and unit.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tam requested the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, leaders at all levels and sectors in Dong Thap province to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, unity, sharing, and support for Comrade Pham Thanh Ngai in his new position, and together with the leadership team to successfully complete the assigned political tasks.

Speaking on accepting the assignment, comrade Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, shared: “I am deeply aware that the assigned task is both an honor and pride, as well as a great responsibility in a completely new locality, especially after the merger, Dong Thap province has a large development space, many potential strengths to build ecological agriculture and modern rural areas.

Therefore, I will make every effort, together with the leadership, direction and management team, according to the motto: Comprehensive - Focus - Connection - Breakthrough for sustainable development; strive to build Dong Thap province with fast-growing industry by 2030, pioneering in building ecological agriculture, modern countryside, smart farmers, and being among the leading developing localities in the Mekong Delta, as set out in the Resolution of the 1st Congress of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

On the same afternoon, the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026, held the 5th session to carry out the process of dismissal and election of additional positions elected by the Provincial People's Council.

The People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026, elected the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province.

Accordingly, the People's Council of Dong Thap province voted to agree to dismiss comrade Tran Tri Quang from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for the 2021-2026 term (he was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term).

At the same time, the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026, elected comrade Pham Thanh Ngai as Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, term 2021-2026.

Result: 95/110 delegates present agreed that comrade Pham Thanh Ngai would hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, term 2021-2026.
