He only played the full match against promoted team Holstein Kiel in round 3 of the Bundesliga. In the remaining matches, the Portuguese midfielder only came on the field from the bench, playing no more than 20 minutes in each match. Palhinha has not scored or assisted at Bayern.

In coach Vincent Kompany's squad, the former Fulham star is only the 4th choice in central midfield, behind Joshua Kimmich, prodigy Aleksandar Pavlović and Konrad Laimer.

In terms of personal life, Palhinha is known for being a frugal player. When he was playing for Braga, his former teammate once revealed that he brought his own food to training to save money.
