Mr. Sabih Khan, Apple's senior vice president of operations, said that the spirit of innovation in product manufacturing is also the company's orientation in its commitment to supporting human resources in the global supply chain.

Smart manufacturing, automation and programming training courses will be offered at Foxconn, Lens, BYD, Goertek, Innovation and Yuto, suppliers in Vietnam that currently assemble final products and produce components for iPads, Macs, AirPods and Apple Watches.

New technical courses launching this year will nearly double the number of educational opportunities available to employees of Apple suppliers in Vietnam.

Apple has worked closely with suppliers to bring skill-building, leadership development, and wellness education to their teams since 2017.

This includes health and wellbeing training for production team leaders in Vietnam, in partnership with leading health and education organisations. The wellness programmes have reached more than 5.8 million supplier employees globally since 2017.

Apple will also expand its vocational education program for people with disabilities in Vietnam this year, starting with three domestic suppliers.

With more than 18,000 supplier employees benefiting from the program to date, it aims to provide employment and career development opportunities across Apple’s supply chain for people with disabilities, while also improving safety, accessibility, and inclusion at supplier facilities.

Over the past year, Apple has also expanded its long-standing partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO) to train more than 64,000 employees and 700 supplier managers on workplace rights.
