Dong Thap: Receiving two rare otters for conservation

The Center for Cultivation, Research and Processing of Medicinal Herbs under the Department of Logistics and Technology, Military Region 9 (Dong Tam Snake Farm) has just received two rare otters voluntarily handed over by local people.

On September 13, the Hoa Long Commune Police, Dong Thap Province, in coordination with the Forest Protection Department of Region I and Dong Tam Snake Farm, received two rare otters voluntarily handed over by Mr. Luu Minh Nhut, residing in Long Thanh Hamlet.

Mr. Nhut said that while working in the fields last August, he came across two otters and took them home to raise. When he learned that these were endangered, precious, and rare species that needed to be protected, he proactively contacted the authorities to hand them over to the authorities for care and conservation according to regulations.
