TPO - With a length of 21.7 km, the National Highway 6 upgrading project from Ba La to Xuan Mai aims to widen the road from 2 lanes to 4-6 lanes with a total investment of more than 8,100 billion VND. How is the entire project now after a year and a half of construction?
The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6 is 21.7 km long, starting from Ba La intersection (Ha Dong district) to Xuan Mai town (Chuong My district), adjacent to Luong Son district ( Hoa Binh province). |
From the existing road section of 6 - 10 meters wide, the road will be upgraded and expanded to 50 - 60 meters, equivalent to 4 - 6 lanes. |
There are 7 road bridges and 1 box culvert on the route; 4 main intersections including Ba La intersection (intersection with National Highway 21B), intersection with Ring Road 4, intersection with the North-South axis road and intersection with National Highway 21. |
In particular, the section near Yen Nghia bus station, the project intersects with Hanoi 's Ring Road 4, which is also under urgent construction. |
Of these 4 intersections, Ba La intersection is designed at the same level. The remaining 3 intersections are at different levels. “The project has a total investment of more than 8,100 billion VND, sourced from the Hanoi city budget with a construction period from 2022 to 2027 (5 years). Of which, the cost of site clearance is more than 5,000 billion VND; construction and equipment costs are more than 2,947 billion VND. |
The section through Chuc Son town (Chuong My district, Hanoi city) was completed in a previous project. |
From the existing road section of 6 to 10 meters wide, the road will be upgraded and widened to 60 meters, equivalent to 4 to 6 lanes. |
According to the Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Board is currently focusing on constructing the section through Phu Nghia and Tien Phuong communes (Chuong My district) with a length of about 3 km. |
The entire project has two major bridges to be constructed, Mai Linh Bridge and Tan Truong Bridge. Mai Linh Bridge has not yet been expanded due to problems with site clearance. In the photo, Tan Truong Bridge is undergoing construction of bridge piers. |

The end point is Xuan Mai town area, where it intersects with Ho Chi Minh road. The entire project is targeted to be completed by 2027. |
