Awarding collectives and individuals who successfully rescued 22 fishermen in distress

According to the decisions, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station and 4 individuals from Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station , Staff Office - Provincial Border Guard Command, professional soldiers of ship BP 11.19.01 and members of fishing boat BTh 99117 TS (Tam Thanh commune, Phu Quy).

Authorized by the Provincial People's Committee and the Border Guard Command, Colonel Dinh Van Bo - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals.

The Border Guard Command also awarded certificates of merit to the crew of the BP 11.19.01 ship and 3 individuals of the Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station, the BP 11.19.01 ship and staff of the Phu Quy Port Border Guard Control Station. The Provincial Border Guard Command awarded certificates of merit to 4 individuals of the Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station.

Previously , at around 6:00 p.m. on April 1, fishing boat BTh 97877 TS, operating as a logistics fishing vessel, was operating in the sea area about 27 nautical miles south of Phu Quy Island when it was damaged and sank. Immediately upon receiving the news, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station , ship BP 11.19.01 and 14 officers and soldiers to the scene for rescue.

During the rescue process, some local fishing boats were also mobilized to coordinate the rescue , fishing boat BTh 99117 TS, which was operating nearby, actively participated in rescuing the fishermen . After about 18 hours of searching and rescuing , the rescue forces and fishing boat BTh 99117 TS successfully rescued 22/22 workers on the fishing boat in distress , bringing them safely to shore .
