Today's pepper price was updated on the afternoon of February 9, 2025 as follows: The domestic pepper market is bustling, continuing to increase sharply compared to the previous trading session, increasing from 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg depending on the locality; domestic pepper price has approached 160,000 VND/kg. Currently, the average pepper purchase price in key areas is 157,400 VND/kg.
Specifically, today's pepper price in Gia Lai province continued to increase by 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous trading session, currently the pepper price is purchased at 156,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province increased by 2,000 VND/kg, currently the purchase price is 157,000 VND/kg; pepper price in Dak Lak province also increased by 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous trading session and is currently at 158,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price in Binh Phuoc continued to increase by 1,000 VND/kg, currently the purchasing price in this locality is 157,000 VND/kg.
Pepper in Dak Nong alone continued to increase by 2,000 VND/kg and currently the purchase price here is the highest in the country at 159,000 VND/kg.

According to statistics, domestic pepper prices continuously increased right after Tet, with a sharp increase of 8,500 - 10,800 VND/kg compared to last week. This helped local farmers enter the new harvest season with excitement.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the pepper area nationwide in 2024 is about 113,000 hectares, with an estimated output of 190,000 tons. Meanwhile, the pepper area nationwide in 2023 will reach 115,000 hectares, the year with the highest area was 2017, about 151,900 hectares.
Vietnam has been the world leader in pepper production and export for over 20 years. However, the pepper acreage is showing signs of decline every year. In January 2025, Vietnam exported 13,085 tons of pepper of all kinds, reaching a turnover of 87.7 million USD, however, exports decreased compared to the same period last year. The export price of black pepper increased by 2.3% and white pepper increased by 3.3% compared to the previous month.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's pepper imports in January fell sharply, reaching only 1,817 tons, with Indonesia being the main supplier. The US remains Vietnam's largest export market, and Germany has recently become a potential market for Vietnamese pepper.

According to forecasts, world pepper prices tomorrow will remain stable, anchored at a high level, but there will still be slight fluctuations between countries.
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC) on the afternoon of February 9, 2025 as follows: the pepper market remains high; pepper prices in Indonesia have stabilized after the previous decline; pepper prices in other countries are stable and anchored at high levels.
Specifically, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,276 USD/ton; similarly, Muntok white pepper is currently purchased at 9,770 USD/ton.
The Malaysian pepper market continues to remain stable and at a high level. Currently, the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is purchased at 9,000 USD/ton and the price of ASTA white pepper is at 11,600 USD/ton.
Pepper prices in Brazil are currently quite high, currently purchasing at 6,500 USD/ton.
The export market for Vietnamese pepper continues to be stable and slightly increasing. Specifically, the export price of Vietnamese black pepper is currently at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l is at 6,650 USD/ton; and the price of white pepper is at 9,550 USD/ton.
