Cold air forecast to strengthen, Central region to experience prolonged heavy rain

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the Central region from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan is entering the main rainy and flood season of the year.

During the period from the night of October 9 to October 20, this area may experience some bad weather patterns causing heavy rain, including: The tropical convergence zone has an axis passing through the Central Central region, cold air waves are often strengthened and supplemented.

The meteorological agency warned of the risk of widespread heavy rains causing floods, especially heavy rains with a high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.

Specifically, from the night of October 9-10: Quang Binh - Quang Ngai is likely to have heavy rain, with average rainfall of 40-80 mm.

From the night of October 10-13: Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue may have heavy rain, common rainfall of 100-300 mm, beware of heavy rain of 50-150 mm in 24 hours.

Heavy rain in the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai may last longer and be complicated from October 14-20, depending on the intensity of cold air and the location of the tropical convergence zone.

Forecast of the path of storm No. 4 (storm Koinu), according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 4:00 p.m. on October 9, the center of the storm was located in the sea south of Guangdong province (China). The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting to level 10, moving slowly in the West Southwest direction at a speed of 5-10 km/h.

At around 4:00 a.m. on October 10, storm No. 4 in the sea northeast of Hainan Island (China) moved southwest at a speed of 5-10 km/h and weakened into a tropical depression.

Impact of the storm, in the next 12 hours, the northwest sea of the North East Sea will have strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center will have strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 10, rough seas.

In addition, due to the influence of the cold air strengthening, from early morning on October 10, the sea area of Bac Bo Gulf had strong northeast wind level 6, gusting to level 8, rough sea.
