Weather forecast tonight and tomorrow (August 13): Localities in the province have very heavy rain

According to the forecast of Lao Cai Province's Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of a low pressure trough with an axis passing through the North, combined with a wind convergence zone of up to 5,000 m operating strongly, the weather in localities in the province will be cloudy, with scattered rain, showers and thunderstorms, some places will have moderate rain, heavy rain to very heavy rain; highlands and high mountains will have cold weather at night and early morning, some places will be freezing.

Specific weather forecast for localities in the province is as follows:

Lao Cai City: Cloudy, with occasional rain, showers and thunderstorms. South wind force 2. Temperature from 25 degrees C to 31 degrees C, average humidity above 85% .

Sa Pa tourist area: Cloudy, sometimes rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms. South wind level 2. Cold at night and early morning. Temperature from 19 degrees Celsius to 23 degrees Celsius, average humidity over 90% .

Bac Ha tourist area: Cloudy, sometimes rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms. South wind level 2. Cold at night and morning. Temperature from 20 degrees Celsius to 27 degrees Celsius, average humidity over 90% .

Low mountainous areas (including Bao Yen, Bao Thang, Van Ban districts and some lowland communes of Bat Xat and Muong Khuong districts): Cloudy, with scattered rain, showers and thunderstorms, some places with moderate rain, heavy rain to very heavy rain. South wind level 2. Temperature from 25 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius, average humidity above 85%.

High mountainous areas (including Bat Xat, Muong Khuong, and Si Ma Cai districts): Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, some places with moderate to heavy rain. South wind level 2. Cold at night and early morning. Temperature from 20 degrees Celsius to 27 degrees Celsius, average humidity above 90%.

Warnings of widespread thunderstorms are likely to be accompanied by extreme phenomena such as hail, tornadoes, strong winds and lightning strikes, so local people, especially in mountainous areas, need to be on guard against the above types of natural disasters causing damage and be alert to localized heavy rains due to terrain conditions that can cause sudden flash floods in small streams and landslides in steep terrain.
