Da Nang tourism grows impressively after merger

In July 2025, tourism activities and related service industries in Da Nang City continued to flourish thanks to a series of large-scale cultural, sports and entertainment events that were successfully organized, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to increasing room occupancy rates at many accommodation establishments.

In addition, the peak tourist season in Hoi An also creates more attraction for the tourism market, with a variety of products and experiences for tourists. At the same time, the city continues to promote MICE tourism, wedding tourism; strengthen regional connectivity through the merger of Tourism Associations, initially creating a foundation for building a professional tourism ecosystem, enhancing the position of destinations in the region and internationally.

Revenue from accommodation and catering services in July 2025 was over VND 5,000 billion, an increase of more than 5% over the previous month and an increase of more than 19% over the same period in 2024. In the first 7 months, revenue from accommodation and catering services in the area was over VND 31,000 billion, accounting for more than 20% of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue, an increase of 25% over the same period last year.

The total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments in the first 7 months of 2025 is estimated to reach nearly 11 million, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach 4.3 million, an increase of 21.6%; domestic visitors reach 6.5 million, an increase of more than 17% over the same period in 2024.

The average number of overnight guests in the first 7 months of 2025 is 1.88 days/time. Of which, international guests stay 2.03 days/time; domestic guests stay 1.75 days/time (same period in 2024: 1.81 days/time for general guests; 1.93 days/time for international guests and 1.70 days/time for domestic guests).

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, accommodation and catering services in the city in July and the first 7 months of 2025 continued to maintain impressive growth momentum, reflecting the strong resilience of the tourism industry after the merger. The number of international and domestic visitors both increased, contributing to the steady growth of accommodation and catering service revenue.

Travel and tourism support activities in Da Nang after the merger also continued to record a positive recovery trend, demonstrated by impressive growth in both revenue and number of tourists on tours in July and the first 7 months of 2025, especially the strong increase in domestic and international visitors to the city.

In the first 7 months of 2025, the number of tourists coming to Da Nang on tours is estimated at more than 960 thousand, an increase of 28% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors increased by 24.4%; domestic visitors increased by 33.2% and Vietnamese visitors traveling abroad increased by 13% over the same period last year.

“The above results reflect the effectiveness of stimulus policies, destination image promotion, and strong investment in infrastructure and tourism products of Da Nang. This is a positive signal contributing to promoting economic growth and affirming the city’s position as a leading tourism center in the Central region and the whole country,” said the Da Nang Statistics Office.
