In tourism development, Thai Nguyen has the advantage of being located in the center of the Viet Bac region and owning rich tourism resources, with more than 1,000 historical and cultural relics that have been inventoried; more than 550 intangible cultural heritages. However, in order for these advantages to truly bring economic efficiency, tourism enterprises and establishments need to quickly enter the "orbit" of professionalization.

Discussing the province's tourism development, Mr. Nguyen Le Phuc, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, said: Thai Nguyen needs to focus on developing tourism in a professional, modern, and in-depth direction. In particular, always creating new products, minimizing products that are similar or duplicated between tourist areas and spots in the province.
In fact, in the province's tourist areas and spots, it is not difficult to realize that many tourists are not interested in the existing tourism products; they are not enthusiastic about spending on tourism-related products and shopping. We cannot blame tourists for being too "tight on spending", but rather blame the tourism industry for not having different and truly attractive products.
One limitation that the provincial tourism industry is facing is the poor infrastructure for tourism development. Tourist areas and destinations are developing slowly, lacking high-end tourist areas. Most businesses participating in tourism activities are small and medium-sized, not having enough potential to regularly renew products. In particular, there is no close connection between businesses, leading to self-weakening, thereby not having enough strength to create a strong brand.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Cuong, Head of the Hanoi Unesco Travel Club, General Director of Trang An Travel, concluded: In order for Thai Nguyen province's tourism industry to develop sustainably and professionally, tourism businesses in the province need to share and support each other. More importantly, the province has mechanisms and preferential policies that are attractive enough for domestic and foreign investors. Especially large investors, they are strong enough in human resources and material resources to create a breakthrough, lead Thai Nguyen tourism to develop sustainably and make local businesses change their economic thinking about tourism.
In order to resolve the existing limitations in the tourism industry; to build the province's tourism industry worthy of the advantages of a regional center, worthy of the role of "leading" the regional economy, the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee has proposed many important solutions, including the content of developing tourism in a professional direction...
Of course, to make the role of “leading” regional tourism a reality, the top factor is to require businesses to be more dynamic, flexible, creative, and innovative in the way they do tourism. This will attract more tourists to visit, experience, and be interested in spending when using tourism services.

In recent years, the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee has organized many promotional activities, attracting domestic and foreign investors with capacity and experience to invest in developing high-quality tourism services at the national tourist area of Nui Coc Lake; building accommodation facilities such as hotels, motels, homestays, with policies to attract, offer incentives, and support investors to research, learn and implement high-quality tourism projects in the province.
The province also strengthens the organization and participation in cultural, sports and tourism events to promote and introduce Thai Nguyen tourism to domestic and international tourists, such as: Tourism program Through the Viet Bac heritage sites; Program of cooperation in tourism development between provinces and cities across the country.
Following the general development trend in the country and the world, the province's tourism industry strongly focuses on developing community tourism, taking the interests of local people as the center, creating favorable conditions for people and communities to participate, take ownership and benefit. This is one of the important mottos towards developing green tourism according to the principle of sustainable development. Paying attention to preserving and protecting resources and the environment, thereby linking tourism development with conservation and effectively promoting resource values.
